Ebikes, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, longboards, eboards, motorcycles, skates, unicycles, heelies, or an office chair: Whatever floats your goat, this is all things micromobility!

"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.

micromobility is seen as a potential solution to moving people more efficiently around cities"

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.

Cargo ebikes can be very handy when you need to haul stuff, but they're kinda big and clumsy when you don't. The Convoy C.01 was created with that fact in mind, as it temporarily converts regular bikes into e-cargoes within a matter of seconds.

If it actually finds use... neat.... I guess

I love hauling with my bike....

but you seriously don't need a $4k cargo e-bike or an e-bike with a $600 trailer.

I am sure those things are nice but I move 75+ lbs at a time with my single speed and trash picked $150 kid trailer that I converted to haul cargo

The thing I like about bikes is how they can be as cheap as you want

Agree, but it helps to be able bodied and not in a hilly area.

The Convoy C.01 is claimed to be compatible with almost all upright bikes

Except any bike that has a rear rack on it 🤔

The device will ultimately sell for €2,200 ($2,495).

GTFO! That's insane! It doesn't even look like it has much carrying capacity either! And it weighs 30lbs?? WTF?

I'd take a Burley Travoy over this any day! (I have a Burley Travoy, and it's probably the best on-bike/off-bike accessory I own).

Last time I checked, cargo eBikes are 3500€ and up, so in that context it isn't that outlandish. Is still not something I'd get over an actual cargo eBike.

Maybe it's for people with higher end bikes, or those that don't have the room for multiple bikes?

For the capacity that thing appears to handle,a $200 bike trailer or a rack and two rear panniers would be a way better option for most people, I'd guess.

Some trailers can attach to the seatpost, so they could be used on most bikes without needing to mess with the axle or quick release.

But even something like a Tern Quick Haul would be a more affordable option, and that's a high quality, compact e-cargo bike with some history to back it up.

For 2500 you can get a solid cargo e-bike where I’m from.

I'd love to have a Travoy, those things look awesome!

I'm surprised that there's no competition to it.

That price point is insane

$e2200 is high.

Powered trailers are good for EVs and ebikes to extend range. Larger trailers especially, and then solar permits self charging or electric camping.
