The officers asked for the justices to stay a ruling from the Washington Supreme Court that said their identities could be revealed. The officers had sued the Seattle Police Department four years ago in King County Superior Court, identifying themselves as “John Does 1-4,” challenging the release of their names and details of an internal investigation into their attendance at the violent “Stop the Steal” political protest rally in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday, U.S. Justice Samuel Alito authored a statement denying their request for an emergency action to keep them anonymous, writing the officers “have not adequately explained why at this point they still face an imminent danger of irreparable harm.”

That denial, Alito noted, was not necessarily an endorsement of the state Supreme Court’s decision or its interpretation of the First Amendment.

MAGA Cops: "We believe we're at risk of imminent, irreparable harm if the crimes we definitely committed aren't concealed by the courts."

Alito: "Oof. That's a little extreme, even for me."

Also Alito: "I agree with your desired outcome, so please buy me an RV first and you can get the blueprints directly like the rest of the oligarchy, or at least go through the Heritage Foundation since you're just brokie cops. Dogs must the obey rules."

Technically, yes, but Alito got similar bribes. He also defended Thomas and said some even worse things:

of course he did.

That last paragraph just means “try again with more focus on the first amendment”

Alito is such a shithead I'm suspicious of anything he says.

First the paper correctly calls it an insurrecrion, then they call it the '“Stop the Steal” political protest rally'. Don't softword it stick with the original label.

Don't we already know their names? I found this which lists 2 of them: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/2-seattle-cops-who-were-at-u-s-capitol-in-january-are-fired

But I could have sworn that the rest were already known. Post em if you got em! Never let them hide

This might not be the two they're mentioning, but it could be. Good catch.

Married officers Caitlin and Alexander Everett were fired because “they crossed the outdoor barriers established by the Capitol Police and were directly next to the Capitol Building,” Diaz said in a statement.

Edit: Oh shit, these are the two.

We know the couple was caught after one of the six officers uploaded a photo of herself with a former cop at the Captiol. That led to an investigation that revealed six officers were in DC on January 6, but four of them were there for sightseeing or visiting friends. They said they had simply attended Trump's 'Stop the Steal' rally brefily. The Everett's though, were found to have participated not only in the rally but also the insurrection. The other four officers are reportedly back on active duty, and will not face any consequences.
