Another heartwarming tale from the scene. What I really want to know is what Chelsea thinks about the economy of Animal Crossing, and in particular, the works of K.K. Slider.

You might have known about it without knowing the name, Keith Flint from the prodigy had one.

TIL the mo in Mohawk is short for mono. Holy fuck

[–] Soggy@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago

Only in a backwards etymological way. It comes from the Mohawk people of modern New York (even though they mostly didn't sport that hairstyle, the association stuck anyway because of Hollywood)

And the “ro” in “Afro” is short for rohawk, which in turn is short for roundhawk, because its rounder than the monohawk.

Hawk comes from “haw cut”, “haircut”.

In more ways than one bum-dum tis

I sported a bihawk to Opeth back in like 2009. It was a good look, in my opinion.

This is prime 'justfuckmyshitup' material

I don't really care what she looks like. She's clearly friendly. If she isn't hurting people or other animals than she is infinitely better than most politicians, large company CEOs, etc. Bring on the nice people with aesthetics I don't understand.

People self reported there too. I'm still giggling about this one from last month

I agree but I can also appreciate that the style has intention behind it so I kinda dig it

[–] AnarchistArtificer@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah, this is where I'm at. I love it when people are weird as hell, even if it's not inkeeping with my own aesthetic preferences

[–] BoxOfFeet@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Meh, idk. Her makeup and hair well done, she's clearly curating the look she wants. She seems happy and kind, so I'm speculating she has fulfillment in her life. So, I'm going to disagree.

I'd say "justfuckmyshitup" is bad execution of things, not just things outside of societal norms. Like this bad boy right here.

I suppose people wear extreme styles to get attention and it is working for her

[–] Akasazh@feddit.nl 4 points 2 weeks ago

I lately spotted a girl that looked like she applied (I hope make up) like she scratched all over het face with a ball point pen.

I didn't understand it and felt old and detached just hoping it wasn't an actual tattoo.

She had a certain aesthetic going with red hair, gaping nylons and bright red hair, but that make up got me right in the middle age.

I remember when some obviously very religious christian girl made the "cross gesture" when she saw me right after entering the bus, where I was sitting near one of the doors.

I wasn't even in my most egregious goth outfit. Just black shorts and a black shirt. Not very conspicuous.

I felt flattered.

Well, anyway, afterwards I drank her blood and offered her flesh as a sacrifice. Ah yeah... good times. /j (Not about the bus part though.)
