didn't find it on instagram but here is an article with the same headline but it's from 2023 https://www.economist.com/finance-and-economics/2023/10/30/what-a-third-world-war-would-mean-for-investors and behind a pay wall

Been saying all along. Climate change is only a population problem from the perspective of the super rich exploiters. When the gov gives up on climate change due to the rich investing in politics, you can count on them having a plan and solution that does not involve the rest of us.

even killing the poorest 50% of people on earth would almost nothing to prevent the climate collapse because they have such a miniscule carbon footprint, the richest 1% however..

It's nice global warming never happened.

It did but fortunately nuclear winter balanced it out.

We can just push earth further out in orbit...

Yeah it's pretty clear the wealthy exploiters just decided about 4 billion of us were expendable about 15 years ago... if not longer ago than that.

You're giving them far too much credit. While these people like to think of themselves as super-geniuses, they can't think any farther than the tips of their noses. Their plan is to hole up on their private islands when shit hits the fan. They can't imagine that they'll be the first to be eaten when food runs low.

Unless they have a plan on how they will continue to extract wealth after the working class is gone, then they are short sighted and will be food for the ultra rich who plan on exploiting them.

So, an economic magazine writes about how war would affect the economy, and you people are outraged?

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

Outrage? More like a scornful eye roll.

I hate to break it to everyone but we are already in world war 3. It's just that we need way less troops to fight it and you will be shocked to find out who the axis are this time around.

[–] Pilferjinx@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

This time period could definitely be prelude to ww3. The collective world isn't at war just yet.

〽️

TIL ~~there isn't a stock market set of emojis. This is supposed to mean "stock market go down"~~ that 📈📉 are specifically "chart" emojis and not aliased to literally anything else for some reason.

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

📉 📈

These are just generic graph emojis, but it can be argued the stock market graph is a... generic graph.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 4 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

What in the frick are those called because "stock", "market", "graph", nor "chart" bring them up.

Edit: maybe it was something other than graph that I searched.

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

I dunno but they're in the "object" section of my emoji picker.

There's also a bar graph in there 📊

[–] Lumidaub@feddit.org 5 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

there isn't a stock market set of emojis

Good. They haven't infiltrated quite everything yet.

Edit: goddammit

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 1 points 5 days ago

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 4 points 5 days ago

What do you mean? 📈📉

If ww3 happens my stocks will go brrr

[–] Noerknhar@feddit.org 2 points 5 days ago

Believe it or not, this will have a massive impact on decision making, i.e. on whether we'll have WW3 or not.
