Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Wish the Democrats would do the same

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 27 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Democratic Party usually: "Vote blue no matter who."

Democratic Party with Mamdani: "Yabbut..." They are absolutely losing their minds over this. Refusing to endorse him and will probably try to sabotage him. Their reaction to this is exposing how truly full of shit they really are.

[–] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 91 points 2 days ago

Yeah, that may not work out the way they want it too. Attitudes are changing for a lot of people thanks to Trump's rampage. Hopefully, enough people will wake up and realize that the Democratic Socialists are probably the change they've been looking for.

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

I wish Democrats were doing the same.

[–] FancyPantsFIRE@lemmy.world 78 points 2 days ago (1 children)

“And he wants to give you affordable health care! Public transit! Tax the rich! Can you believe this socialist? Wait, where are you going? Come back!”

[–] DharkStare@lemmy.world 32 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's crazy how big the political divide has gotten that I wish Democrats were as "bad" as Republican fear mongering portrays them.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 10 points 2 days ago

Your comment resonates so much with me.

[–] henfredemars 76 points 2 days ago (1 children)

But national Republicans have already spotlighted Tuesday’s primary. “Every single Democrat now owns Mamdani’s radical socialist agenda to defund police, abolish prisons & stop ICE from deporting criminals,” the committee posted later, quoting House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries congratulating Mamdani.

Guess I'm socialist.

This is the best piece of political news in 2025 so far.

Roll with it. Hard.

They're too up their asses to realize that's a tactical error on their part. Make progressives the new face of the Democratic party, and sell the shit out of progressive values, stated clearly and plainly.

[–] HuskerNation@lemmy.zip 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If the old guard of the democratic party are shitting the bed over his victory. MAGA must be absolutely mortified at the thought. God I want absolutely no compromise socialists in charge.

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Even if the no compromise socialists do end up compromising, it will still be a better result than what we have been getting from democrats for decades because at least hard left socialists would start from a strong position, rather than a position most reasonable people might find agreeable only to get yanked to the right by the fucking fascists.

[–] BlurryBits@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 day ago

That would be fantastic. The first time in my 56 years we would see a democrat actually caring about the social good rather than pander to it for "vote blue" dollars - that clearly dont work

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

wouldn't it be good if that worked?

yeah what's exactly the problem with that? it's because he's too socialist right? Dems? is it because of the pro-social, welfare-positive policies?

[–] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 17 points 2 days ago
[–] Triasha@lemmy.world 32 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Dems did the same thing to trump. This could go really well.

[–] TauZero@mander.xyz 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The Pied Piper strategy from the 2016 Clinton campaign!

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

tbf back then we still thought a majority of people weren't bugfuck insane.

Don’t threaten me with a good time

Also: how do they not get that he’s convincing Republican voters who have been rage voting for almost as long as the guy himself has been alive?

Seriously: fucking help solve people’s problems in a real and immediate sense and shocker - they can be persuaded to vote for you.

The purge of Neoliberalism begins

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Free advertising! When I see which points Fox "News" presents to make him look "evil", it is hard to find better endorsements.

[–] sness@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago

I hope it's gayer frogs. The frogs are insufficiently gay.

[–] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 29 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Oh no no no! This is TERRIBLE! Then Democrats Might want US to ALSO enact Policies that HELP them!

-Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries and the DNC!

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 4 points 2 days ago

Chuck "my job is to keep the left pro-Israel" Schumer must be throwing a tantrum right now.

Oft evil shall evil mar

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 21 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Nothing more American than to see Republicans freak out at the tiniest possibility that someone wants to actually help average Americans ..... and instead of ignoring them, they label him a radical socialist that is dangerous.... dangerous to who? The rich!

[–] Balaquina@lemmy.ca 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He's not even dangerous to the rich. Rich people live in Democratic socialist countries like Finland. They are just going to be slightly less rich. The horror!!

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 8 points 2 days ago

slightly less rich while living an overall better quality of rich life. Being rich is great but being rich and living in a clean and orderly environment is amazing!

Please oh please oh please!

Be careful what you wish for....

Trump took my job. If I still had my job maybe I wouldn't entertain ideas of converting to socialism. I can't be a capitalist without capital.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 4 points 2 days ago

fine with me.
