just notice?

[–] KarlHungus42@lemmy.world 20 points 11 hours ago

The only thing worse than him blatantly shifting all norms to authoritarianism, is that his "freedom loving patriots" are too busy sucking misinformation out of his asshole to give a fuck.

[–] Stern@lemmy.world 19 points 11 hours ago

He wants the Epstein client list out of the news cycle SO FUCKING BAD

[–] Simulation6@sopuli.xyz 30 points 14 hours ago (3 children)

Ever time he attacks people that criticize him like this he comes off as such a weak, crying baby that I am amazed that his base is not disgusted with him, but they never are. How can they not see him for what he is?

[–] Benedict_Espinosa@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

They love him exactly for what he is in their eyes: strong, candid and clever. For them he is honest ("he tells it like it is") and can do no wrong ("Trump was right about everything"). What other people see as idiocy, weakness and corruption, they see as strengths.

Big part of this appeal is that his persona gives his followers an unlimited license to be as dumb, fascist and hateful as they want.

[–] Plurrbear@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

Because the MAGATS don’t have enough brain cells to understand how wrong they are for supporting this helmet haired douche!

[–] Karjalan@lemmy.world 16 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Well you see... That's because they are also week little babies. That's why they flock around a "strong man" like him.

[–] saimen@feddit.org 4 points 9 hours ago

All hail to the biggest of babies!

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 34 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

The onion doesn't stand a fuckin chance anymore. They can't keep up with this level of dumb.

[–] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 6 points 14 hours ago

They could become a serious news outlet, now, and never have to change their headlines.

[–] ThatsTheSpirit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 28 points 20 hours ago

Get a load of this guy (totally doin the thing we knew he would do). Now how long will it take for people to realize what part of the story we are in here. I dunno....i think those who can should probly be armed at this point.. and everyone organized in any way within their communities. If they come for you, your neighbors should FEEL that shit. Especially your conservative neighbors and family members. Alienating eachother right now is exactly how they want us. Check on your neighbors guys.

Bin Laden won, he got some folks to crash a couple of planes and then the U.S. did the rest of the work for him, and now the America that experienced 9/11 simply doesn’t exist anymore, that country strangled itself. We are the corpse of what was once the united states and we are being Weekend at Bernie’s’d by christo fascists.

Fuck this country.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 27 points 20 hours ago

Someone embarrassed Americans by giving them a bloody nose so the US spent the next two decades trying to stop the bleeding by stabbing itself in the heart.

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 36 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I know my daughter thinks im a weird old guy, but I often tell her the world changed on September 11,2001. Not just for Americans but the world. So many countries went along and adopted all the measures of control the US wanted in place. Im in Canada and I can honestly say our society has changed as well because of 9/11

[–] rozodru@lemmy.world 7 points 13 hours ago

yup. remember when you could travel to the US without a Passport from Canada?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Afghanistan: 3

Most Powerful Empires in the Modern World: 0

[–] Tja@programming.dev 2 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (2 children)

Soviet union, USA and who's the third?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 4 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

The modern era started around Queen Elizabeth's time, believe it or not, and the term "graveyard of empires" was actually coined for the British invasion under Victoria.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 1 points 9 hours ago

Maybe USA a second time?

[–] preludeofme@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago

I got my haircut from someone who said 911 was a hoax and all Dems are manipulating the weather..... So... Yeah he won

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 3 points 14 hours ago

Little hint @Trump: a country is made of people.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 41 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Rosie O'Donnell the comedian and talk show host? THAT's who super strong and brave mr. Trump is afraid of?

Wait this is real? He’s still grudging about her?

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 8 points 20 hours ago

It's resting. Remarkable country, the USA, isn't it? Beautiful plumage!

Edit: I misread the URL and it's an archive site, not TS.

[–] CaptDust@sh.itjust.works 56 points 1 day ago

FWIW it's an archive site, no traffic to trump social.

It's not dead: it's gone from latent fascism to acute fascism. It's very sick, and it will die, but not without hurting the whole world in its noisy death throes.

Now seems like as good of a time as ever to say this. I have in the past always said that in 1930s/1940s Germany the average German may have or may not have supported the nazis. I have also said that the average German may have or may not have known about concentration camps.

Without the internet, those citizens never had a voice. And it was all too easy for the nazis to round up opposition, and take them to camps.

I have always had people argue me that couldn't happen. That all Germans at that time knew, and supported it. Then they call me a holocaust denier. Which never made any sense to me. I never said it didn't happen.

Point is, without the internet, todays modern american would not have a voice. It would seem like we ALL support maga. We don't. However, there are large portions of americans who think of cops as the good guys. There are people who argue that police don't abuse their power. Simply because their media never tells them about it. Not because they support police brutality, but rather because they believe Rodney King was a single incident.

These same people think you're crazy if you tell them what ICE has been doing, or that we've already turned into a nazi state.

So I'll say it again. The nazis took full power. They never had full support. Maga doesn't have full support. Get your voice out there. Fight maga regardless of what nation you live in, just as your grandparents fought nazis regardless of what nation they lived in.

And now it's time for some personal messages.

Pierre says hello.

[–] SkyeStarfall@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 9 hours ago

They didn't. There were plenty of anti-fascists at the time of nazi Germany. And history remembers them fondly

History, however, does not fondly remember everyone else.

Bonespurs says a lot of things. In a 1967 case Afroyim v. Rusk the US Supreme Court held that no US citizen can involuntarily lose their citizenship. But you're right that the USA I once knew is dead - in that one a spoiled toddler who can't find his own leaky asshole with a funnel would never have been elected President.

[–] laranis@lemmy.zip 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Are you really citing precedent as if the law even fucking matters anymore?

I realize I'm being an asshole and I'm sorry. And if any of these ass clowns get held accountable for anything they do I'll happily eat crow.

I just don't see it... We're in for a hard reset sometime soon.

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (6 children)

Memes notwithstanding, the Supreme Court hasn't consistently ruled in Trump's favor, even stuffed with 3 of his nominees (thanks to Moscow Mitch). The court did save his ass in their insurrection ruling, but in his second term they've been ruling about 50-50 for and against him so far. Here's an article if you're interested.

[–] jacksilver@lemmy.world 8 points 19 hours ago

50-50 is pretty good odds when a majority of the cases are absolute garbage.

Seems kinda random. Also, we now live in a reality where the POTUS singles out randoms to remove their citizenship?...

I'm eating an onion here, aren't I?

Born in the USA, her mom was US born too and he wants her citizenship revoked. Well outside the definitions of the birthright citizenship he’s pushing. So basically no one is safe

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosie_O'Donnell

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I see he is giving USA back to the natives.

[–] Typotyper@sh.itjust.works 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Natives won’t have citizenship either. He’ll have an excuse and the courts in his side.

Sioux, go to Canada

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

They've already floated getting rid of the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924, mostly because a lot of those pesky indigenous people are on reservations where we could potentially frack for oil (and they're also bringing in a bunch of cash in some states because of casino laws applying in the state but not on rez land).
