The tickets have apparently already been sold out.
Nolan is big on 70mm and wants to make it more widespread. Tickets selling out a year in advance is great publicity for that - I'd even say promoting the movie is the secondary motivation. It shows studios and theaters that people ARE interested in the format
Wow… People are really willing to pay scalped ticket prices for a movie.
Well maybe not, but others are banking on it.

That's dumb, what if it sucks?
I have sprung for every 70mm Imax presentation of Nolan's movies possible as I'm lucky to live near a theater capable of it.
I absolutely can't justify buying tickets for a movie a year out. I can wait.
I'm looking forward to this one!
