My goal is just to have a community where people can go and see what new game news is out for the day and comment on it.
Other communities:
Warframe is an amazing game in its own right. You should try it (it's free) just to see how they twisted all the tropes. It's an mmo where you're alone or with 3 strangers. You can gain xp from those strangers' kills if you're close enough. Everything you can buy is also available for free.
Very interesting and fun game, with a truly amazing story/universe.
Everything you can buy is also available for free.
Iffff you're willing to spend many many hours grinding against artificial RNG and pretending your time has zero value.
But yeah enough patience and persistence can technically get you almost everything (I stopped after 50 warframes).
There really is nothing else like it. It's a bewildering game, but one that is constantly willing to take big swings in a way that no one else would dare. It's one of the most unique scifi settings out there, and one of the most unique scifi stories. And by and large the community is actually pretty great.
Everything gameplay related: yes
Additionally you can earn the premium currency by trading with other players. Warframe.market and riven.market were the places to go...
Sometimes I miss the game but the tenosynovitis knows better...
Still great game, 10 out of 10, Clem, grakata
it has a tony hawk mode, flappy bird, and guitar hero, recently it added a boy band with a few singles. Not shocking they'd go somewhere else goofy
I'd taken a little break from Warframe, started playing a few years ago and got to 1,200 hours. Went online to watch Tennocon (the yearly Warframe convention) which was the 10th one, so big stuff was shown. I wouldn't say I had gotten bored of the game, just needed to breathe for a bit, but man did they reawaken my excitement for it with everything. There is no game like it, and no developer like Digital Extremes. They're as close to perfect as you could get, which isn't completely perfect but pretty damn close (at the very least compared to other AA/AAA studios).
Personally, I just can't get back into it. I quit back in 2019 when the chat mods went fully insane and quit/fired and players were getting really toxic about Nyx pre-rework
It doesn't help that I started back when the meta was focussed on crowd control, and witb so many damage-focussed frames they've been made largely irrelevant. Plus the open world stuff and extra equipment grinds that came with them just don't click with me
Okay but seriously, why are there old trenches on Tau? I can buy that the Orokin, constant assholes that they were, came to Tau along the solar rails to kill the Sentients they created and claim their new solar system. That contradicts a lot of the old lore, but makes some logical sense. They presumably have the Tenno at this point though, and they have the Infestation; why would their tactics involve trench warfare? They could virus bomb a site from orbit and then send Tenno in to annihilate anything that still moved. Trench warfare isn't really efficient, there's a reason we don't really see it anymore, and the Orokin have tech far, far beyond what we have today.
Also if this update doesn't let us finally see The Sounding of the Naga Drums I will be very sad.
What? We're seeing trench warfare today now in Ukraine.
A lot of that is due to the Russian military secretly being incompetent since the Cold War. If you have proper air or space forces and know how to properly use them, then trenches aren't very useful
We've wargamed this, it works on us too is just not very well publicized.
