My wife and I are aging and she has health issues. We prefer to be home over not being home.
Casual Conversation
Share a story, ask a question, or start a conversation about (almost) anything you desire. Maybe you'll make some friends in the process.
RULES
- Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
- Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
- Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
- Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world
- Keep it clean and SFW
- No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

I spend too much time money and effort making my home somewhere nice to be to constantly be looking to go somewhere else. There's nothing wrong with staying home and enjoying your things.
My thoughts too. Plus I'm in my 40s and inside is nice and quiet
We stay home most of the time on off days. I’m paying for this house, I’m living in it as much as I can lol. Kidding aside, we’re not outdoorsy people and most of the recreational activities in my city are outside under the blistering sun. So I invested in a large screen tv and a comfy recliner since we love watching movies and tv series. Next up is probably upgrading from the soundbar to a better sound system.
It's nice to have the option to do what you'd like.
We haven't had a true vacation together since before COVID.
Tonight's definitely a chillax @ home.
Our Thursday routine is typically:
-
Work until 4:30p
-
Quick beer @ my fav brewery which is 5 minutes away
-
2nd brewery on other side of the city for "Jazz Night"
And occasionally, like last night, we do a Trifecta, which includes a distillery about 2 minutes from "Jazz Night".
Saturday there are friends coming for beach day & fire pit.
Sunday is a family bday gathering.
So, staying in on a Friday night is perfectly acceptable.
