Good. Finally they're facing some actual consequences for their actions.

I mean, yeah, most people probably don't know what they're doing but does that mean that no one should be able to fix their own stuff any more?

Yes, but it doesn't even install properly. There's a custom fork of Wine specifically for Affinity Photo and it works somewhat but it's very slow and crashes a lot.

This proactive approach helps to avert potential engine damage

Ah yes, the old "you're too stupid to do anything by yourself, so we kindly prevent you from trying"

Dell Latitude is now "Plus"

Pocket was always among the first things I disabled when setting up Firefox and apparently, I wasn't the only one doing that.... I'm sure it had its users but I always found normal bookmarks to be more convenient.

Never even heard of Fakespot, though.

We need Affinity Photo for Linux asap... Even on a VM both Affinity Photo and Affinity Photo 2 keep crashing for some reason....

I recently spent 6 weeks in Australia, with much of that time spent outside. I did wore a hat for the most time but didn't really bother with sunscreen; I got a nice tan but that's about it.

All I can think about when looking at this is April by Deep Purple...

I mostly just wear normal clothing at home; just jeans and a t-shirt or a sweater. I don't really hang one to worn out t-shirts/sweaters, unless they have some kind of special meaning to me. Once clothes get bigger holes in them I just throw them out or re-purpose them as rags...

So yeah, I just wear the same stuff at home that I would wear outside.

Of course it's up to you whether you want to use something that, according to Microsoft, you're not supposed to use, but the only "pirate-code" I had to run was to activate it. The upgrade itself was pretty straightforward. You could use it just fine without activating it if you wanted.

IMO it's a better option buying a new computer to run Windows 11 officially. I'm not including Linux because I specifically wanted to keep Windows on the Laptop to run apps that don't work on Linux.

I did an in-place upgrade as well. I was surprised how easy it was; it's just one Registry key and from there you can just do a normal upgrade.

Way easier than installing Windows 11, which wouldn't even officially run on my ThinkPad T540p..

I just came back from a 6 week trip to Australia; spending time with my relatives (some of whom I've never met before or haven't seen in 20 years) and I had a really really really great time. Everyone was so welcoming and just appreciative; I was really overwhelmed by how amazing the whole experience was.

On my flight back I was crying the whole time; I never felt like that before and just couldn't handle my emotions (much to the dismay of the people sitting next to me). Most of all I just didn't wanna return to my dysfunctional family in Germany. It's been my goal to move to Australia for some time now but after this experience I'm determined to move as soon as possible. It's gonna take a lot of figuring stuff out and it won't be easy but I'll make it work.

Just wanted to get that out there I guess.

Edit: if someone happens to have a few tips and pointers for me regarding my plans they would be greatly appreciated

Does anyone know how to order or configure the P14s G5 AMD with a OLED display on the German Lenovo site?

The OLED display seems to be NA exclusive apart from a few overpriced offers from third party sites...

Some time ago, I pulled this sticker off our old fridge before we got rid of it and put it onto my PC's side panel (don't ask me why, I guess I thought it looked cool). I don't exactly know where it came from or who put it there, although I suspect it was put there by a Australian relative that was visiting us a long time ago (the Murrumbidgee is a river in NSW, Australia).

Does anyone know the artist or name of this if it even has one? There's no obvious signature that I can see.

Feel free to remove if this isn't allowed.

Edit: I've since found out that this comic strip was actually made by the relative who put it on our fridge. It depicts something that had happened to them; I won't go into it further cause they don't know that I've even posted this here but yeah

I just wanna get to know people and maybe make a few friends. I've tried a bunch of servers over the years, both general and specific ones but it never really worked out I guess? (I'm a pretty awkward person to talk to, maybe that's why^^)

Their best album IMO

When switching into video mode from photo mode or vice versa the main lens' OIS kinda jolts it around which makes a rather loud click.

I'm on Android 14 and the latest Google Camera update.
