A Touch of Cloth

[–] Ek-Hou-Van-Braai@piefed.social 13 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It's a very long list.

Tom Criuse is the first that comes to mind

[–] Aurenkin@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 months ago

But he's the only one who can help

[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 10 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I really can't stand James Corden, every time he speaks is rocks dropping on my head

[–] blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 4 months ago (3 children)

This will be a popular one.

Where are you from?

Because people in the UK generally hate him for being an insufferable cunt and then he fucked off to the States

Are people starting to hate him over there as well?

[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 5 points 4 months ago

I'm UK mate I really have an intense dislike of him

[–] nixon@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 months ago

US generally hates him too.

Jordan Peterson

Or it depends on what you mean by ”famous”, ”person” and ”annoys”?

Bono. Really don’t know why. The Edge too. There is a pretentiousness to them that really rubs me the wrong way.

I am fully aware that it’s all in my head and I am sure if I met them in person that I would, in all likelihood, find them to be absolutely terrific human beings. It’s just my brain being a judgmental twat against two completely undeserving, greatly talented, successful people.

[–] j4k3@lemmy.world 7 points 4 months ago

I don't care about any of them. I pretty much only watch people here or academics on YT with a PhD. I quit watching TV when it came with terms and conditions.

My answer to this for the last like 20 years is Jack Black. I like him in Kung Fu Panda, and that’s it.

[–] LadyButterfly@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 points 4 months ago

I nearly put him myself. Don't think he's a nice person either, he just sets off alarm bells in my head

Who's that Goop company bitch? That's the one.

“Would you like to buy a candle that smells like my vagina? How about a jade egg to shove up your hoo ha instead?”

I really dislike Jesse Rosenberg... Eisenberg... Whatever the eff his name is. He's as bad and off-putting as Jared Leto. The hatred I felt for his rendition of Lex Luthor could power this whole goddamn country for a year.

Also Jared Leto.

Ignoring all the politicians...

Anthony Anderson, the actor. But it's not as an actor he annoys me. I'm actually a bit of a fan of him on the job. Sometimes gets a little hammy, but not too bad. Great at comedy.

But he always has a stick up his ass in interviews. I'm not sure why, since he seems like an otherwise decent guy, but damn. Like, relax man, just ease up.

Jim Carey. I can't stand how he over acts. Hes so painful to watch.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Hmm, however, his Grinch is one of the best performances in movie history.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

True, but his Grinch performance may have caused the abomination that was Mike Meyers Cat in the Hat, so I'm taking away half a point.

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Hard disagree. Terrible movie. The animated one blows it out of the water.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

The original is a great one for sure.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

The Majestic and The Number 23 were his best movies and also the ones he hated making.

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 4 months ago

Recently did a rewatch of The Number 23 after watching The Cable Guy for the first time with my partner. In my memory, I gave The Number 23 a 7/10… on a rewatch, it’s maybe a 5/10. It’s pretty good, but nowhere near as good as it was in my memory.

The Cable Guy was great, in retrospect.

Allen Pan gets on my nerves. He's a science shitposter which is great as I love that content generally. I just don't like his personality and mannerisms. When he's nervous especially he puts on a strange act. Really apparent if he's part of a stage show like I saw recently with Open Sauce 2025. He's otherwise perfectly fine.

Neil deGrasse Tyson for similar reasons.

There is the most annoying TikTok ad with NDT in heavy rotation on YouTube right now.

[–] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 months ago

I liked NDT when I was younger, but he's really made being the smug "Um, actually" science guy his whole personality. Plus he sorta crowned himself Sagan's successor.

Back in college a couple of my friends in the physics club got to have dinner with him after he gave a talk, and they confirmed that he really is that pretentious and self-centered.
