Do you live under a r.... nevermind.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 50 points 3 months ago

That looks so peaceful. Just needs blackout curtains.

That’s a lot of wasted green if they don’t play golf.

The balls would just roll right off the cliff in every direction lol

The heat/cold retention on that must be fantastic.

There was a house near where I grew up that was 3/4 under ground. Only the front facing wall was exposed. They claimed almost zero ac/heat costs unless it was just extreme heat/cold. It was hilarious to see them mow the top of the house

If a wizard comes knocking on your door, don't answer it.

Unless you're looking to get your steps in.

There's one just like that near where I grew up and now that I'm older I want to ask them about heating/cooling, because it's got to be so much cheaper than a regular house.

I doubt they would get away with "almost zero" though since it's basically buried with a small hill rather than dug down or cut into stonea cliff.

I imagine maintaining it can be a bitch though.

There was a similar domicile in my area back in the 80s that collapsed due to heavy rains. The occupant was sleeping on the sofa and died.

I stayed in a fairy chimney in Cappadocia for a week in summer and it was great, no AC needed.

Had to look up what a fairy chimney was because I’d never heard the term, that sounds so cool!

You have startled the developer. Just put the coffee down and walk away. He'll come back out when he's ready.

After he's put on his emotional support overknees

It’s like a tribe of Mountain Smurfs live there.

Pareidolia is playing tricks on me; I'm either seeing a huge nose sniffing up that house, or that rock has a face.

[–] SparroHawc@lemmy.zip 18 points 3 months ago

Of course it has a rock face.

Even a home office space in the shadow

[–] TauZero@mander.xyz 9 points 3 months ago

Even the house under a rock got satellite TV.

Probably significantly cooler in there than the house next door that isn't under a rock

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago
