30C outside, 24C in the shade, perfectly cool but not cold breeze, just the sound of leaves rustling, and I have the place to myself for 1 hour while everyone goes out for an appointment. A moment of bliss... There are times where I've started missing the familiarity of Melbourne but in this moment I am definitely not missing it

I was just having a coffee and I looked up and I saw a mouse running out of the kitchen. it ran straight towards my dog, over his paws and around him and under the couch. He looked at me like what the hell did you see that ? Useless dog sigh

[โ€“] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 6 points 4 months ago

Dog was looking at you thinking how could YOU let this happen

Want to borrow a Jack Russell? Your flooring may never recover, but you'll have no more rodents.

Everyone is bringing their kids into the office today. Two people have already swung by with their kids and mine are coming this afternoon. The women in the office are getting spoiled

My favourite part of the work day is when my Grade 6er arrives at my work after school.

Regretting the accidental nap when I got home

Edit: I am also hating how Apple Music works now. Thought Iโ€™d try to buy some of the music I like to rely less on YouBoob but itโ€™s so focused on shoving a subscription service down your throat that you have to close that signup window after trying to do anything. And it makes you jump through hoops just to access being able to listen to a song version before you buy.

Capitalism is truly ruining everything.

I wish cds were better in op shops and the ones on eBay were less expensive. I wish I could read sheet music and wasnโ€™t surrounded by people so I could just damn well sing it myself

I need to rehome some hobby items, and the most interested person is somebody I loath. Hundreds of hours in these things so yeah it does matter. Ugh.

Iโ€™m partial to energy drinks over coffee, but a Friday coffee really does hit different.

Iโ€™m the type to help keep the door open if someone is not too far behind me, walking the same direction. You know, politeness and all. Just witnessed someone at the gym look back, see me walking towards them, open the door the slightest amount possible (push open and it automatically shuts) and then it slammed right in my face. Thats humanity for you.

Going to bed early. Today was a write off due to sick. I donโ€™t know what obnoxious bug this is but everything aches. This virus can get in the bin. I have a few events on this weekend but now looking like Iโ€™ll have to not go. Sigh.

5 and a half hours of sleep in a row!!!!

It's the gym. I have to go everyday it seems like.

It's hard but worth it, and it does have a positive impact on my life.

Nice to be asleep for a while.

[โ€“] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 6 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

YAYYYYY.

Off to the gym seeing as how it allowed me to have 5ish hours of sleep in a row.

Then a well earned pizza.

Cheers ๐Ÿฅ‚

Gym done. Dunno if that was the right move cuz now Iโ€™m fucked but I reckon Iโ€™ll get a good sleep in.

I had to sleep off a headache this arvo and now I'm wide awake. Let me give passing out another crack.

I feel so meh. Recently had more bad news and just trying to ignore everything to get by. Unfortunately that means apathy :(

Displaced during my break.

So many empty spaces and they have to use the room Iโ€™m in.

Fuckers. I hate his place.

Up and to work. Ugh

[โ€“] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 5 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

I spilled some damp kitty litter while emptying the tray into the binโ€ฆ now I have to sweep that up and mop the lino. And before that I spilled a drink on the carpet next to my bed that I need to finish blotting up and use cleaner on.

Cleaning is truly never over :(

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 4 months ago (4 children)

i mop the floor every time anyway, cat paws are yucky, only takes 5 seconds with the dettol wipes mop https://www.dettol.com.au/cleaning/wipes/dettol-antibacterial-floor-mop-system-pack-of-25-wipes/

carpet, I do not like carpet

wtf, just had a swarm of mosquitos come in thru gaps in the front door. I switched the outdoor and hallway light off and I'll see if they stop coming in. I have swatted about 20 so far

Peppermint tea.

[โ€“] Eagle@aussie.zone 5 points 4 months ago

You've had alot going on this week. Hopefully the tea helps.

The Aldi marinated frozen salmon is pretty delicious for an easy meal. Tonight was lemon and pepper but the mixed herb one is yum too.

Cold beer has been obtained

I worked on a Gustav-Becker torsion clock today. Couldnโ€™t get it going but was fun nonetheless.

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 6 points 4 months ago (4 children)

Let's post photos of old clocks that don't work.

I have no idea what this one is, I believe it's a wind up something or rather but it belonged to great grandparents. probably hasn't worked in a century lol. Looks nice though.

I picked some pork belly pieces and chicken thighs on clearance today.

Iโ€™m excited to see how the pork bellies pieces turn out in the air fryer over the weekend.

really hot coffee has been obtained

I think I will rest my back some more later

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 4 points 4 months ago

A wet and windy day to follow such a lovely day yesterday. Most of my cardboard managed to stay in place, just a couple of bits that were not weighted down enough. The bins were another story, there are wheelie bins strewn everywhere up and down the street, plus a lot of rubbish blowing around from bins that fell before collection.

I took a trip to Bunnings and now have picture hooks, a new hose connector for the tap, weed killer for the path and an edger for the grass. That used up all the gift certificates I had that needed to be used in store (thanks to Flybuys and Telstra), plus a few dollars off a pre-paid Mastercard I've been gifted. I've still got a couple of hundred left on the Mastercard to buy mulch & fertiliser etc. before I have to start using any of my own money. ๐Ÿ™‚
