GTFO if you don't want to be here.

Except, there's indigenous nations in Alberta that would be put at risk if the Province of Alberta decides to fuck up this bad.

Why are they going to the American government? What do they want to get from the American government?

[–] festus@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 months ago

They want to separate from Canada to become a US state. Presumably they're looking for support so that the Americans can pressure our government on behalf of the separatists, etc.

The border is right over there. They can go and apply for citizenship any time they want.

You're preaching to the pulpit friend, I was just answering the question.

My comment wasn't exclusively a reply to you specifically

I just can’t wrap my head around why ANYONE would want to be part of the U.S. Especially now. They are ridiculed by the rest of the world. They’re attacking their own citizens. They’re bankrupting their farmers. They’re trying to cut what healthcare they have. Seriously. WTF Albertans?? If you think it’s so great, just move there. Just pack up and fucking move there. And, your grandfathers who fought in WWII are rolling in their graves right now. Traitors!

Oh look, the consequences of so-called Canada's actions once again. If only people spent the last half-century advocating against an economic dependency on extractive capitalism because of the fundamentally fascist politics that results from it.
