Imagine if this guy spent this much energy on building housing.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 34 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Wasn't that his previous career?

[–] empireOfLove2@lemmy.dbzer0.com 67 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

It was less " building" and more "extracting rent as a management company".

Any building he did was for corporate space, resorts, or casinos.

Yes but not necessarily and endorsement. He ran several companies into the ground

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 17 points 5 days ago (2 children)

If you look for "bankrupt casino" his failure is number 1:

Call his bluff. He just wants to wag his dick around. So mexico should mobilize their army at the border and say "cross this line and you are declaring war."

Guaranteed someone up high makes him understand how politically stupid that would be. Probably in pictures. With small words.

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 18 points 5 days ago

I don't think we have enough time or crayons for that

Hey Ukraine, here comes Russia to liberate you from your Nazi problem.

He saw big boy Vlad do it and wants to copy his idol.

Yeah, this is great. We're going to (illegally) invade Mexico ane Venezuela simultaneously, while also occupying our own cities that don't go along the paramilitary immigration Gestapo. Oh, and we're also waging chaotic, impulsive trade wars with literally every country on Earth. Maybe we can get a ground war going in Russia as well, really speed run the imperial collapse.

[–] discosnails@lemmy.wtf 10 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Don't forget Nigeria! You know, the oil rich African country with 60 million military aged (18-35) men.

[–] pjwestin@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago (8 children)

There's so much terrible news all the time, I legitimately don't know if we've threatened to attack Nigeria or not

Switching from "for the children" to "against cartels" meanwhile the epstein files are getting so old they will just be able to claim you can't even make anything out on them anymore

[–] lemmy_get_my_coat@lemmy.world 12 points 4 days ago

So old that no Republicans would ever want to touch them

[–] daannii@lemmy.world 89 points 5 days ago

So like the same situation with those fishing boats? Just going to go and kill a bunch of people without a trial and claim they were cartels. ?

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 25 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Take note how few people are commenting/demanding the Epstein files now compared to a few weeks ago.

The zone has flooded.

Oh this won't go well.

Cartels don't... Care about war crimes. Like at all. Like less than Trump.

These soldiers families are about to be at risk.

Wild shit to go military on cartels.

[–] FoxyFerengi@startrek.website 42 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (4 children)

Seriously, he does not have a single clue what he's marching the US into. That's going to be incredibly messy at best

Do you think it would bother Trump if some cartel killers hung corpses from a bridge in the US? It would just allow him to expand his harassment and deportation of Hispanics in the US, give some appearance of legitimacy to a declaration of martial law.

[–] grissino@lemmy.world 15 points 5 days ago

Sounds like this is the planned outcome actually.

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 18 points 5 days ago

Didn’t he want to fly families out to surprise his military minions in Afghanistan as well?

Not too sure how tough the Marines will be when their kids start disappearing.

So peaceful. Give this man 2 Nobel peace prizes.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 61 points 5 days ago

Can we just... not?

The Military Industrial Complex forces the US to always be at war somewhere around the world. Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Palantir (the big one now), and many others are the reason the US is doing this military campaign. Gotta keep those shareholders happy.

[–] Salamanderwizard@lemmy.world 43 points 5 days ago (1 children)

This must be how the people in a Civs world must feel. Like things, just not making any sense.

Watch out for Gandhi

[–] LoafedBurrito@lemmy.world 22 points 5 days ago (10 children)

No he isn't, he isn't declaring war with mexico, that would be REALLY, REALLY stupid.

This is one of his horrible attempts at negotiating with Mexico, but it just comes across as insanity.

[–] KneeTitts@lemmy.world 35 points 5 days ago

that would be REALLY, REALLY stupid

You know he is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY stupid right?

He’s not going for cartels, the US supplies cartels with weapons and gives drugs to the US. That’s their cash cow!

He is going because the political parties the US funds in Mexico are loosing popularity and they need to interfere before it’s too late.

If the cartels turn Trump and his fellow MAGATs into gas station attendants, I wouldn't mind. They are also welcome to burn down the ballroom.

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 19 points 5 days ago (2 children)

If he incurs on Mexico, I fully expect Mexico to declare war.

How are they already bored with invading our own cities? I'm not saying that I endorse any of this shit-show, but can we please just leave our neighbors alone?

TRUMP SHOULD BE ARRESTED

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Bi-partisan mothers and fathers in all states (both red and blue) ready for an internal ground invasion to procure and publish the Epstein files. This is called protecting your children.
