"If you can't handle me at my worst, then you don't deserve me at my best."

Me: Oh god, what did you do?

Love a JB Fletcher meme; don’t love the context.

There’s a meme I wish I could link but the YouTube algorithm has gone to shit. JB Fletcher types the Navy Seal CopyPasta is the gist.

Edit; noticed the poster. As a woman myself I’d hate to have everything scrutinised around any relationship. This just rings as ‘girls vs girls’ to me and I’m not a huge fan ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It’s less “girls vs girls” and more “morbid curiosity” if I’m reading it correctly. It’s not something to be proud of, to clarify.

The meme also doesn’t mention the gender of the subject or their (ex)partner(s). Could, hypothetically, be anybody.

I’m going to adopt that mindset. I’m just used to that ‘deep dive’ behaviour being attributed to woman along the lines of ‘clingy girlfriend’.

I’m not saying men don’t engage in this behaviour, but (again in the older internet I grew up in) it was mainly attributed to women. Especially because Facebook was the first thing that came to mind for me.

Facebook was at its height when I was just barely an adult and I know a few women who would talk along those lines.

Thats just where I was coming from. It’s no excuse, and I’m really glad you provided this prospective

I'm a guy and I used to snoop around a lot back when I used facebook.

Men are gossipy bitches too. #Equality #YesWeYap

I did reference that in my original comment. I was just getting at the fact that the meme was usually overly clingy girlfriend.

I assumed they were acting out of romantic interest, not out of malice/gossipy curiosity.

Or just to lower the chances of sticking one's foot in one's mouth.

I fear that the more info I have about someone, the higher the chance I'll say something stupid.

No way I can make a joke in front of your new GF about how you broke your old bed with your ex, if I don't know that happened in the first place.

😭

A similar reaction when you see someone suddenly has a joint Facebook account with their spouse. Or when out of nowhere they start posting bible quotes 10 times a day with photos of their spouse and kids. (Someone's been a cheatin.)
