Blue and white electrical tape would work faster and cleaner. You’re welcome. ☺️

[–] clockwork_octopus@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Blue and white gaffer tape would be even quicker

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 7 points 1 week ago

Exactly what a gaffer would suggest.

[–] hessenjunge@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Isn’t that quite easy to remove, unlike permanent marker?

[–] AsoFiafia@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Permanent marker is just as easy to remove. On virtually any surface all you need is isopropyl alcohol and a cloth/tissue/napkin/etc. I was also thinking of it from the perspective of vandalizing a possibly insane persons property and want to be done as soon as possible.

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

If the signs are certain kinds of plastic the permanent marker can sometimes embed ink the plastic. If you soak a piece of the sign in isopropyl and it swells then you likely have something the ink will soak into.

Or a dry erase marker if that's a billboard. Color over, erase.

[–] hessenjunge@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Some markers are more permanent than others I guess (I came across some that weren’t really bothered by isopropyl or solvent).

For speed I’d suggest a stencil and some nasty spray paint (the type that isn’t easily removed).

I can’t remember the name of them, but the pen was made of metal. Those never came off!

I looked them up and they are pretty similar. I want to say that’s not them cause they aren’t exactly what I remember, but it probably is. I was a kid in a foreign land when I saw them, so who knows.

except you couldn't make PENCE say PENIS with only a blue sharpie.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago (2 children)

They clearly used white as well.

[–] BleatingZombie@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago

White sharpies are too expensive. I'm out

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

The real trick is to just get a roll of white tape for that part

Reminds me of when kids would steal letters off of the signage board in highschool for presidents day so that it read “Penis Day - No School”

[–] rumschlumpel@feddit.org 30 points 1 week ago (2 children)

What did that even say originally? First line is "Trump" of course, but what's the second and third line supposed to be?

[–] howrar@lemmy.ca 55 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think this is that the unmodified version looked like

[–] Una@europe.pub 8 points 1 week ago (5 children)
[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago

No one knows.

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 week ago

It's a unit of currency.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

Pence is the opposite of suspense

[–] ericatty 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Pence was the vice president of the first term.

He was threatened with murder by the end

[–] drhodl@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Two pence, or tuppence, is 2 pennies, so a pence must be one penny. A Trumpence is valueless, however.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

whenever i hear/see the word tuppence i think of Thank Goodness You're Here. which is not very often cause it happened once since I played the game and it was just now. but still.

[–] einlander@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Pence, maga

[–] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not a mock-up. This really happened.

[–] Fedizen@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I have no desire to visit the USA tbh

[–] DFX4509B_2@lemmy.org 12 points 1 week ago
