Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Trump is a morbidly obese pedophile.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 10 points 6 hours ago (5 children)

You can tell he is losing it over the Epstein list and his whole administration stalling out.

Prediction: Trump does not finish his term. Either he will be removed or resign.

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 4 points 3 hours ago

Resigning is for people who can feel shame.

[–] pleaseletmein@lemmy.zip 4 points 4 hours ago

Only way he doesn’t finish the term is if the Big Macs catch up to him first.

[–] TheMinister@sh.itjust.works 16 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago) (1 children)

lol you are truly optimistic. The only way he doesn’t finish his term is if he’s getting carried out feet-first

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 2 points 5 hours ago

He's already hitting Bush 07 numbers, Dems are going to win back the house and they'll have a mandate to make everyday Epstein Epstein Epstein. It's only going to get worse for him from here on out.

[–] MourningDove@lemmy.zip 3 points 6 hours ago

“removed or resign”

LMAO.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

He doesn't care anymore. He is convinced that no one will do anything, ever. He probably still thinks he will live forever.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 3 points 5 hours ago

He's been talking about death constantly these last few months.

He opens his mouth and whatever shit he's thinking about always spills out, so that means he's constantly been thinking about how he is going to die soon.

He cares very deeply and insecurely about what other people think about him. His whole presidency has been attempting to bamboozle people into thinking he is a great man. What happens when being the President means everyone in the world being reminded that your a pedophile, having to hear that every single day constantly.

Release the Trump-Epstein files!

[–] Hellotypewriter@retrolemmy.com 23 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

This is dementia-type shit.

[–] null_dot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 48 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I'm not saying Trump doesn't have dementia, but I don't feel like this outburst is really evidence of that?

He doesn't like women. Doesn't like journalists. Doesn't like smart women. Doesn't like being asked questions.

His base loves this stuff. No one is going to hold him accountable. He can say anything he likes with impunity.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 9 points 13 hours ago

His base loves this stuff.

I'm sure some of the chuds that are his biggest fans have it in their spank bank.

[–] jdredbeard@lemmy.world 18 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

He's lashing out like a dementia-ridden animal. Innocent people totally do that /s

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 18 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

A lot of comments here talking about dementia, but the prick has always hated women with jobs. It's not about dementia here, he's just a sexist piece of shit, among other thing.

[–] InputZero@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

Perhaps no, but anyone who has watched a loved one develop dementia knows that dementia patients begin saying the most uncouth things. It's like the filter we all have in our heads to stop us from saying the worst stuff is one of the first things to diminish as dementia takes hold. If he had dementia things like this happen more often. Thing is it's impossible to tell with Trump cause he never had a filter to begin with.

[–] tym@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

He most likely killed his first wife and buried her on his golf course. He wasn't kidding when he said he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th ave and get away with it.

[–] chemical_cutthroat@lemmy.world 106 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Say what you want about his physical condition, dementia, narcissism, acts of treason, fear mongering, rape, pedophilia, and racism... he sure can be an asshole sometimes.

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

If you're not familiar with the works of the Great Sage, Monty Python

[–] noxypaws@pawb.social 2 points 12 hours ago

not quite as good as the OK Corral in Morse Code but I'll take it

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 15 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Oh, that's not email, that's just sdf.org bulletin board: https://sdf.org/?tutorials/bboard-tutorial

Check the SDF FAQ: gopher://sdf.org/1/sdf/faq/
You will need some gopher-compatible browser. I recommend Lynx. I mean, there's also HTTP, but where's the fun with that?

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 8 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

bulletin board

I haven't used a BBS since the 90s, dialing in to play MajorMUD and later PvP MUDs (Chaosium/Static Chaos).

I'll check it out. I use lynx already, because I use Arch(, btw) and break literally everything including my DE.

[–] human@slrpnk.net 3 points 15 hours ago

It's Dougie Howser's diary.

[–] chunes@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Anyone know the name of this font? Looks cool.

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 7 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

Terminess nerd. From ttf-terminus-nerd, I think. It seems to be same or very similar to Terminus, but that broke at some point, although it seems to work again.

[–] aarch0x40@piefed.social 61 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Damn, Trump's going to launch the nukes at the American Press, isn't he?

[–] aceshigh@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

He’s gonna do it to nyc when mamdani becomes mayor in ‘26 to show all the other liberal states/cities what will await them if they don’t comply.

[–] silence7@lemmy.world 37 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Tech issues on slrpnk.net right now, so using a different account.

Anyways, there's a reason Trump had dinner with King Bonesaw this evening

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 0 points 6 hours ago

Too bad that building wasn't unexpectedly demolished with all of them in it. What a travesty.

[–] JayleneSlide@lemmy.world 23 points 23 hours ago (5 children)

HJF. That guest list... That wasn't a black tie dinner. That was an assembly of overlords meeting with the kings of their respective kingdoms. Those are the people one would assemble if feudalism is the goal.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 13 points 20 hours ago

I don’t think those guys wear ties.

Did they even say “thank you”?

[–] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 10 points 19 hours ago

Where's the carbon monoxide when you need it? Was it so much to ask, they all were in the same room! Not even a lil' Legionella or something? 😢

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 9 points 21 hours ago

Its a literal oligarchy

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 7 points 20 hours ago (1 children)
[–] JayleneSlide@lemmy.world 4 points 17 hours ago
[–] CitizenKong@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

It is the goal. A technocratic version of it.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 23 points 1 day ago

The comment continues the president’s long-standing pattern of denigrating ~~female journalists~~ HIMSELF.
