"The Donald J Trump and The John F Kennedy" is among the most pathetic shit in history. It looks and sounds so hacked together and amateurish. I can't wait for them to honor Trump's passing by removing that shit. Fucking sleep, imbecile.

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 41 points 6 days ago (5 children)

We cannot have another Biden or Ford type who comes in and is like "let's just let bygones be bygones and move forward productively."

We need someone who's going to be there holding a press conference, passing out champagne to folks as the workers rip those letters down and throw them in a dumpster. Not just this, but every other thing he's tarnished and destroyed. Fix it loudly, fix it proudly.

We cannot have another Biden or Ford type

We can and we will. That's the only kind of politician Wall Street will bankroll for the job

Fix it loudly, fix it proudly.

"We put up a bill to fund a committee to begin discussing a name change, but the Republicans blocked it. There's nothing we can do"

[–] runner_g@piefed.blahaj.zone 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Mamdani EOd the undoing of over a years worth of Eric Adam's EOs. there are people who are willing to do it and they can win.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I am excited by an administration that is the exception to the rule. We have a County Judge down in Houston who is a similar exception. After eight years in office during which she has been at war with the state nearly continuously, sued, harassed, slandered, and threatened with deportation, she's done little to change Harris County in no small part thanks to opposition from within her own party.

A great politician, an amazing bureaucrat, a wonderful person, but entirely without the institutional support enjoyed by Corrupt-o-crats like Henry Cueller and John Whitmire.

[–] runner_g@piefed.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 days ago

that's great, fighting the good fight. we need to be amplifying these type of people, showing folk that change is possible, showing the dnc that progress is actually important to us.

[–] Earthman_Jim@lemmy.zip 6 points 6 days ago

I couldn't possibly agree more.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Absolutely. The next Dem prez needs to be a warrior, who will come away from his inauguration saying "Round up all those MAGA motherfuckers and send them to Gitmo." We'll sort them out over the next few months. Immediately revoke ALL MAGA executive orders and legislation.

Confiscate the entire Trump estate, and start investigations of the estates of ALL of his Sociopathic Oligarch associates, starting with Musk, Theil, Ellison, etc. beginning with full freezes on their entire estates. Their passports are suspended, and their international travel assets frozen, no planes or yachts. They will remain on America, while their alleged crimes are fully investigated.

MAGA must be declared a domestic terror organization, and a serious national security threat, and crushed mercilessly and ruthlessly. They need to be removed from our government and society, prohibited from existing, and their followers prohibited from ever running for elected office under 14A/S3.

[–] FlyingCircus@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

That’s a nice fantasy, but no Democrat will ever do this. It would cause too much disruption to business.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 5 days ago

You are 100% correct about the past elected Dems, and most of the current ones.

But there is a new breed of Dem rising, like AOC, Frost, Crockett, Smallwell, etc. They are the sorts of courageous warrior Democrats that we need as leaders. We have to get rid of the virtuosically mediocre losers like Schmuck Schumer and Jeffries who have partnered with MAGA to hand America over to the worst predators in the world, so they can exploit us ruthlessly.

The 2026 Midterms is almost certainly going to be a turning point for Progressive and Socialist Democrats, and give them a solid coalition of power in Congress. If they use that opportunity to act boldly and decisively, then they can increase their representation in 2028, and get even more powerful.

The opportunity is ahead of us, if they don't squander it the way Biden did so irresponsibly. I'll never forgive him for that.

[–] Th3D3k0y@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I had this thought on "if I was president" and in theory the executive order would be legal and "generic enough" to not be seen as a targeted thing.

"Any Federally Name entity should have their name reverted back to how it was named at conception or its last Congressional approved name."

Gulf of Mexico comes back, Trump's name gets just eradicated from existence, DoD is back.

I am sure there are some things I obviously missed the history of name changes on, but still probably an overall positive to just removing that shitstain "legacy" from our history.

I upvote and say FUCKING YES. And I say this as a tippy iPhone user who has to press a butting for every capital.

THE Donald J Trump and THE John F Kennedy Center for Artists Who Can't Perform Good and Who Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Coming next:

The Donald J Trump and The Adolf Hitler Museum of Fine Arts.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 7 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I feel like that's an insult to Hitler, he may have had shit taste in art but he at least had a taste. I doubt Trump has the fundamental ability to appreciate anything.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

At least Hitler tried to be an artist, so there's that. Donvict's Daddy got him into Wharton for business, and seemingly learned abso-fucking-nothing about how to even run a business, something millions of people manage to do better than Donvict.

Donvict's idea of "art" is gaudy shit covered in gold.

I suspect the only reason that he likes gold is because he knows there's an association with power and prestige but is too stupid to get that there's more subtle symbolism within that.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 6 days ago

What's next? The Trump-Lincoln Memorial? The Trump-Washington Monument, with "Trump" in giant letters, vertically down the entire length?

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (4 children)

can’t wait for them to honor Trump’s passing by removing that shit.

Would be extremely funny if the name doesn't get changed until twenty years after he's out of office, because some string of cowardly dipshits don't want to rock the boat while he's still alive.

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Oh hell no, as soon as trump dies, all republicans with "suddenly realize" that trump was as horrible as he actually is. They'll blame every trump created problem, as well as every other GOP created problem on the, then, dead trump. The GOP will then take their victory lap for "coming out of the darkness and cleaning up Washington". Meanwhile any living GOP person that had a hand in crafting or enabling trump and all his sins will walk away scot free.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (2 children)

as soon as trump dies, all republicans with “suddenly realize” that trump was as horrible as he actually is.

Nah. He's to embedded in the bullshit machine. As soon as he dies, he's going to be retconned as a Bush Neocon and enshrined alongside Calvin Coolidge and Ronnie Raygun.

All the problems will be laid at the feet of Barrack Hussein Obama, the fake cheater DEI President who stole both elections and destroyed the economy with Socialism.

The GOP will then take their victory lap for “coming out of the darkness and cleaning up Washington”.

They do this after every handover from a Dem administration. "We restored honor and integrity to the White House" was a Bush line, following his defeat of Al Gore in '00.

Meanwhile any living GOP person that had a hand in crafting or enabling trump and all his sins will walk away scot free.

They'll walk right into the next administration. Steven Miller is with us for the rest of our lives. He'll be running a Think Tank worth $100M+ by the time he's 50.

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (2 children)

All the problems will be laid at the feet of Barrack Hussein Obama, the fake cheater DEI President who stole both elections and destroyed the economy with Socialism.

Thats going to be hard, and unnecessary, sell as its not Obama's name now plastered on the Kennedy Center. Obama was already out of office for 8 years when half the White House was demolished. A chunk of MAGA is already upset with trump. Trying to turn that ship would be time consuming and expensive when its much easier to simply blame the dead trump for all the problems. The GOP wouldn't be able to claim they've "cleaned house" without pinning all the problems on the last one in charge, that being trump.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

Thats going to be hard, and unnecessary, sell

That's okay, because every major media company is now run by a conglomerate of Silicon Valley fascists.

The GOP wouldn’t be able to claim they’ve “cleaned house” without pinning all the problems on the last one in charge

Democrats will win a majority in 2026 and immediately get the blame for the nosediving economy in 2027

following his defeat of Al Gore in '00.

Well, the word "defeat" is doing a lot of work, there. More like after the Republicans stole the 2000 election for W.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

Gore did not get to be president in 2001, therefore he lost

Plenty of entertainment, just not what they banked for.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Will he poop his pants on stage while kid rock smokes meth?

[–] notwhoyouthink@lemmy.zip 6 points 6 days ago

This has happened at least twice already.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

Maybe he can cover for the days Kid Rock is in rehab

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 20 points 6 days ago

Why would anyone of good conscience take part in this? Do they really want to soil their name with an association with Epstein's best buddy?

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 25 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Tantrum and threat of a $10 billion lawsuit against him incoming. But all that will do is get thrown out of court and result in more performers cancelling in protest. So good luck with that.

Edit: Removed extra word.

[–] Rhoeri@piefed.world 19 points 6 days ago

More of this please!

[–] Janx@piefed.social 21 points 6 days ago

Money. It's the only thing they seem to listen to...

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 17 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Calling it now:

The only "talent" are going to be willing to go to the [REDACTED]-Kennedy Center are far-right grifters.

They'll sell absolutely zero tickets to working class people and make get all of their sales from hyper-rich assholes who can afford to travel from multiple states away, cuz ain't no way the 80% anti-Trump DC population is gonna fucking bother.

This shithole will become the biggest hub for fascist performers, and seats will never be full to the brim again.

Second Prediction: This becomes the main hub for the Rogansphere outside of Texas.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 10 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Maybe this is where Turning Point will have its shitty alternative Superbowl halftime show

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Garunteed tbth

[–] TehWorld@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Obligatory f Trump, but I’m GUESSING that current ticket prices aren’t cheap now. Lee Greenwood “9 shows only” tix are probably gonna be… inexpensive. Also, most armed branches have a band. I foresee a lot of that.

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

I can certainly see Trump forcing the armed forces to perform there.

[–] Nusm@peachpie.theatl.social 15 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Wait, I’m confused, isn’t this how that Capitalism they keep on about is supposed to work?

[–] Th3D3k0y@lemmy.world 11 points 6 days ago

It is only supposed to work this way for The Poors. It is bad manners to do this to The Haves

[–] Gork@sopuli.xyz 16 points 6 days ago

Hit 'em where it hurts, their pocketbook.

[–] DickFiasco@sh.itjust.works 10 points 6 days ago

Keep the momentum going.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

So how about replacing it with something that fits the dignity of the Trump Center?

How about, the Fox primetime team with a choral reading of "Milk Milk Lemonade," followed by Junior and Eric's stirring a cappella rendition of "See The Girl Dressed In Pink."
