There's nexpo, coffee, hbomberguy, megalag, jgao, Patrick Boyle. Please drop other good ones as at times they cover the file with Donald Duck in them and get their videos restricted which makes them hard to find.

I like Tommy G for on the spot stuff. Turkey Tom is good for internet lore. Casual criminalist is a good one and that guy has like a dozen channels, each dedicated to specific types of events.

Casual criminalist and Tommy seem interesting, thanks

At least a little investigative: Good Work

Strikes my preferred balance between information, investigation, and satire

I forgot to mention Dan Toomey, he is amazing as well.

Haven't watched a ton of him, but wendigoon seems to do neat stuff with urban legends.

f4mi doesn't do long form content, but she does fun dives into niche 90s-00s tech and gaming stuff.

i like fern, they are owned by electrify a private firm but the videos look good quality to me

[–] laz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

[–] msokiovt@lemmy.today 0 points 1 month ago

Which private equity firm bought fern?

I don't necessarily agree with his conclusions, but the stuff he digs up is very interesting.

hatedone is also ok.

[–] laz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 month ago

Hatedone seems to have gone off rails at times but his initial work on some charities was rather interesting

YouTube belongs to google and therefore sucks; why make google rich? Classic newspapers and public broadcasters in Europe rule; they provide high quality reporting. Read the Guardian, the English version of El Pais, BBC or even Al Jazeera - best the combination of all. That way good journalism gets funded.
