Is a party with shrimp similar to a crab rave? ~~Crustacious~~ er, curious minds want to know

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

It is similar, but more low key, there is more mingling than dancing. Next up, let’s talk about a langoustine fiesta!

Sophie had a shrimp on new years eve

Watched this for too long waiting for cat to finish it

[–] _thebrain_@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 hour ago

Oh she finished it.... Took her a good 20 minutes tho.

Cats doing literally anything are so cute

Also cats not doing anything.

Something about the angle and the subjects and the colors reminds me of cookbooks from the 80s.

Betty Crocker's Cookbook cover showing a multicourse meal

I wanna know what kind of host puts out strawberries with the tops still attached.

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 19 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

The kind that wants to leave a convenient handle on their food so party guests can pick one up without finger-fucking the entire fruit bowl.

[–] Tikiporch@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Wrong. It's the kind that likes to find the decapitated strawberry tops, covered with their guests spit littered throughout their home.

Easily solved by inviting better guests.

Mission impossible music starts playing.

… but … why show the ice? Why is the bowl clear. I’m so confused.

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 5 points 15 hours ago

Ice to keep the shrimp cold, clear so you (and guests) can see the ice. It's a common way to serve cocktail shrimp.
