Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Just tell the IDF that he is a Hamas supporter.

Did he wet himself? Just asking questions.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 14 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

"How much did he wet himself?" That's the Tucker question style.

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 8 points 3 hours ago

He hasn't denied wetting himself. What is he hiding?

[–] Sgt_choke_n_stroke@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

"Were just asking questions. I mean how much urine normally exits tucker carlsons body when being examined by the IDF"

-tucker carlson clone probably

Someone funnier than me said he looks like a dog trying to understand a magic trick.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 hours ago

Except much, much uglier.

Oh man. Tell Aviv airport security is no joke. You will get questioned on the road to the airport and it's all business.

Too bad they didn't tar and feather Fucker Carlson.

[–] ssladam@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago

Yeah, but most VIP are escorted around the standard security. For this to happen they went in looking for something.

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 108 points 19 hours ago (9 children)

Carlson is fine and exited Israel. It's totally normal to be detained and interrogated upon departure from Israel. I'm not saying it's right or that Israel is cool. I'm saying this story is a nothing-burger and basically free press for Carlson's upcoming interview with Huckabee.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

I basically ignore all news that doesn't have substantive outcomes and consequences, the news is just a massive speculation market driven by grifters, political scammers and online betting. If you read anything that seems to appeal to your feelings, that's a huge red-flag that you're being gamed. I wish everyone knew this.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 12 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

This is not normal whatsoever. It is intimidation of journalists criticizing Israel.

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

If it's how they operate, it's normal for their country, by definition.

They're straight up saying it's not good.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 5 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

The story is not a nothing-burger. Just because Israel has normalized harassing journalists it does not get to be a "normal occurrence". Also they stopped a conservative journalist for criticism of Israel it is certainly not a random event.

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

At this point y'all aren't disagreeing about what happened or if it was good/bad, just about how terms like "normal" and "nothing burger" should be used.

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

We are disagreeing whether the story is noteworthy or something that should be considered "normal".

Words have meaning which is why these semantical discussions are important.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 25 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

Still not worse than 'israel'

[–] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 6 points 14 hours ago

Mainstream media has destroyed the meaning of the word "journalist". Tucker asks more critical questions about Israel than most pretend journalists these days.

[–] favoredponcho@lemmy.zip 30 points 19 hours ago (3 children)

It’s not a nothing-burger

"Men who identified themselves as airport security took our passports, hauled our executive producer into a side room and then demanded to know what we spoke to Ambassador Huckabee about”

[–] RaskolnikovsAxe@lemmy.ca 6 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

This seems decidedly abnormal...I would have thought private discussions between a US citizen and the US ambassador - likely conducted on US soil (embassy) in Israel - would be confidential and he should tell them they have no right to the content of their discussions and frankly they can suck his nuts from the back.

[–] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 38 points 18 hours ago (3 children)

Carlson told the Daily Mail in a statement

You forgot to include the next sentence.

How much trust do you put in Tucker Carlson's word?

[–] logi@lemmy.world 26 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

...or the Daily Mail?

If both have negative trust, does that multiply to trustworthy?

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 1 points 5 hours ago

I guess this is more of a fraction times a fraction equals a smaller fraction than a negative times a negative equals a positive sort of thing then.

[–] Mantzy81@aussie.zone 25 points 17 hours ago

two wrongs equal far right

I’ve had so many people try to convince me that Israel is like a western country with similar amount of rights and freedom.

Bahahahaha

[–] INHALE_VEGETABLES@aussie.zone 12 points 16 hours ago

Sounds like the USA.

Bahahahaha
