You would like to think so. But I went all the way through it and decided "fuck it, I'll check the comments."

A total of 53 comments and >half of them are some right winged nut names kelpfarming just saying over and over about how it and every recent shooter has been liberal. Literally just repeating the same thing over and over every five minutes! Like right now! Go look. He just left a comment the moment I finished the article.

I've noticed this on AP. While the platform itself is very unbiased, the comment sections are filled with right wingers spouting insane things.

Thank you, NY post is basically national enquirer at this point. Worse actually.

There was a 90% chance it was MAGAT, but yes fuck face started a war so now it's gonna be a 5050 chance it's MAGA or a pissed off foreigner.

There was not 90% chance of that at all. Did you even read the news in question, or did you just jump to conclusions? But yes, I agree that there will probably be more terrorist events happening as a result of recent actions.

What the fuck. This just doesn't happen in other countries, at least nowhere near as frequently:

We need meaningful gun control like other modern democracies have now. The price of inaction is that it might be you or your loved ones next time...

There are many countries on that list with guns and they don't have this problem. Controlling the guns isn't the solution because guns are the problem. "News" in America is always an editorial, an informed opinion and not the news so it results in very heated political discourse that is nonstop in America. We need media reform to curb frustration focused media.

They have guns, but they also have much much much stronger gun control laws.

Two issues with this graphic:

  • the data is incorrect, incomplete or misleading: for instance China or India are not included at all despite having multiple mass shootings over the years
  • the data shown shows Finland with a population of 5.6 million next to the US with a population of 349 million

Terrible to hear, but it was West 6th street so I can almost garuntee you it was nothing but republicans and tech bros.

I've stopped hoping for stuff like this to not happen. Instead, I just hope that the shooter was white.
