Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Documents detailing FBI interviews with a Jeffrey Epstein victim who accused President Donald Trump of sexually abusing her as a high schooler are being kept under wraps. More than three dozen pages remain missing, according to an NPR analysis, including “files related to allegations that President Trump sexually abused a minor.” The Department of Justice, which has slow-walked its legally-mandated release of the Epstein files, published 16 pages regarding the accuser last week. However, 37 pages, including notes from the interviews, a law enforcement report, and license records, are still classified.

The DOJ is hiding snuff films, of children being murdered, most likely featuring highly prominent people

The Iran situation is terrible, but also the Epstein shit needs to be on the front page of the news too. We can’t and won’t let them try to bury this.

Excited to hear how we need to release the files for six months, then files get dumped, then nobody cares what's in it, we forget it got published, and we're on to the next "once these documents get released things will change" crusade.

I think the real apathy about the release is how unorganized/difficult to browse the files were.

I watched a bunch of videos of people "dissecting" the files. After some nothing burger takes, I decided to pull down a copy of the files.

Yeah, there could be some genuinely incriminating stuff on there, but with how difficult it is to browse through, it could see the wheat getting overlooked in the chaff (think I'm using that metaphor correctly?).

But but but THE MIDTERMS?!?

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They people in charge of the releasing are never going to let anything truly incriminating be released. The fascist ruling party has been held to very few actual standards of law. I understand the public outcry for justice and access to information but man, it's just not going to manifest the way you want it to.

They have already released a bunch of incriminating stuff accidentally.

Like a cipher from an Epstein victim that implies she’d slept with Trump.

Or that when the fbi were investigating the Katie Johnson case they noted Trump has already appeared as a co-conspirator with Epstein on a case before that was scrubbed (likely the one from the OP).

They had to release these interviews because they left in indexes which confirmed their existence.

And what actions or consequences have come of this?

[–] auraithx@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

What are you expecting exactly? He's untouchable while in power.

It is an issue people are turning on Trump for though, even some of the die-hards. But the real target is the disengaged centrists; they're the ones who decide elections, and once it lands with them, the political damage becomes real.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 0 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

I'm not expecting anything. That was my point. So many people are excited that something actionable to weaken the power of the fascist regime running the US is going to come out of this. It's like thinking that the Navalny video would bring down Putin. People have false hope in a type of justice that does not exist.

Do you not see how incredibly lucky we are to have a disaster of a cunt who can barely string a sentence together and is also an obvious pedophile - as leader of the most powerful country on earth during this transition?

It is weakening them, they've had deflections; MTG, Massie, etc. I've spoken to die-hards who've campaigned for him distraught because 'he was like a father figure' to them. People mistake them from dishonest liars rather than just vulnerable to fear-based propaganda.

It's also weakening the fascist movement across the west and shifting us to the left. I work in FinTech, Trump support has dropped from the majority to a handful of hold-outs. Imagine Vance had got in and enacted the pain surgically with a shit-eating grin.

I have no delusions about justice; what I deal in is sentiment and vibes - and they're already shifting. The full truth will come out, probably after his dies. Write down the denials and don't let them forget.

Getting there 🫡

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Wait, I thought we were all supposed to forget all about Donvict's pedophilia because he bombed Iran, threatens boots on the ground and/or bringing back the draft, and the cost of oil is skyrocketing...

[–] RabbitBBQ@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fastest way for it to be released would be for Trump to shut down the war machine

[–] bluegreenpurplepink@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago

Or the faster we release the files, and keep the focus and pressure on to expose everything completely, the faster we can shut down the war machine.

[–] GuyFawkesV@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Are these in addition to the interviews released a day or two ago? Date on the article is today but can’t really tell.
