Dumped Netflix. Saving.

I’ve never thought Apple TV+ was worth the money - both for the quantity and the enjoyment of its content. While it can arguably claim to have high quality content, it doesn’t appeal to a wide audience. For me most of it is boring and tedious to sit through, and not enjoyable at all. Yet on Netflix I can watch a wealth of content from many different countries that may not be the best quality wise, but stands out in variety and entertainment value, and caters for all demographics.

Everybody saying the $4.99 price was a great deal doesn’t understand how business works. Apple produced $100 million tv shows for the first few years. It was a great deal for you, but a shitty one for Apple. The more they spend on content, the more the price will be. Anywho doesn’t understand that needs to look up the definition of business. With any streaming company, if they are going to have 2-3 big name actors in a show on a consistent basis, expect to pay for it.

Do yourself a favor and get Keyoclock they have everything from Live TV to Netflix, HBO, Box Office ect.. I would recommend getting the 24 hour trial before to see if it’s going to work out for you.

I bought AppleOne 2 years ago, and it saved me money over individual prices. Now it's saving me more money because I could cancel my SimpleLogin subscription and use Hide My Email. I cancelled my Google Drive subscription and just use iCloud Drive.

The bundled features are pretty nice.

What I do is instead of paying money every month to loads of different streaming platforms I just buy the shows and movies. Got 100s of movies and all the tv shows that I watch all brought and downloaded on a hard drive. This saves me money every month and I own them unlike streaming for the rest of my life.

Completely reasonable price. If you want to cancel don’t announce it.

I already canceled Apple TV along with Apple Music. Back to sailing the high seas for me. $11 a month for a VPN is cheaper than all these bullshit streaming services raising prices. Everything keeps going up except my paycheck. And a lifetime subscription to Plex is VERY reasonable.

The main defense I would bring is Apple One and their desire to push people to it. 20 a month for services that would cost close to 30 individually is a steal if you like games and apple music as well.

I don't think anyone else besides Disney/Hulu/ESPN have a package deal like that.

I laugh every time I see the price now or the ad pops up on the Apple TV app. Too funny to think their streaming service is worth $10 a month.

its great to keep for a few months watch the content and cancel but there arent that many shows and they launch weekly - ill prob just sub for a month or two a year now.

I’m sure this is a loss leader for Apple to build out the ecosystem and services. The Apple One sub however is still the best all around bang for your buck. Also $9.99 is still the cheapest service out there without ads. I know you can get Netflix for $6.99 with ads and Peacock at $1.99 with ads. But MAX, SiriusXM, and Netflix 4K are the most expensive streaming platforms and it’s getting out of control. .

TV+ has a much better hit ratio than NetFlix for less than half the cost. It’s in line with most of the other streaming services, if not still less expensive.

At the initial price, it was an incredible deal.

I get mine with the Premium subscription, with more storage, arcade, news, etc.

Imagine complaining about a $3 hike. People are not willing to pay for shit, so people get paid like shit.

Canceled mine too. I’ll sign up once every six months and binge watch what’s there lol. 😝 I got Netflix free for a year with Verizon. Will do the same there.

I’m seeing if there’s any shows I neeed to wrap up before the price increase. Definitely cancelling. Shame because it looks like a lot of good new content is coming out November and January.

I’ve never had a cable TV package and steering subscription into being cable TV’s replacement isn’t going to change that.

I like to rotate streaming services over the year. When I get tired of one, I switch to another. With this increase, I am ready to ditch them for 6 months and then see what they got. I have no loyalty to any of them.

they know many will cancel it.. i don’t understand why you increase the price like this.. i rather sell a 4,99$ subscription to 1 million people than a 9,99$ subscription to 50k people 🤦

I’d pay £20 a month for Apple TV. The quality is superb

ATV+ has a lot of quality content, not sure I would pay for it as a standalone streaming platform, but I have it through my Apple One package, as I´m an Apple Music guy (mostly for the dolby atmos content). And for $20 that´s a good deal for me for music, icloud storage, atv+ and arcade. Arcade actually has alot of decent titles.

Just got the email and canceled immediately. One of the easiest decisions I’ve ever made in my life.

$3/mo isn’t going to break the bank but I’ve been trying to cut my streaming costs anyhow and Apple made this easy. Unlike their competitors, they’re going to be adding content for at least a year a two before they start removing any.

I’ll check back in a year from now, having saved $84 (based on the old subscription cost) and probably be able to catch up with anything I missed in a month or two.
