The magic g*psy getting cast as a black lady because "magic black woman" is a more legible racist stereotype to Americans really was something.

I looked up the plot on Wikipedia for shits and giggles and apparently in the OG book she wasn't Roma, but an Egyptian woman, who somehow ended up in Latvia? Still made her a magical fortune teller lady tho.

I vaguely remember enjoying that movie but fuck if I could tell you much about the plot beyond "kid digs holes"
