Everything he says is wishy-washy half in half out bullshit. There is no way this does not carry over into the locker room.

Schrödinger's quarterback over here.

[–] supercleverhandle476@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

“Anyway, as long as our guys go out and control the puck for 9 innings, I think we’ve got this one in the bag.”

[–] pbandwhey@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Not showing his hand to the opposing defense, what a genius!

[–] 92roll13@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It is what it is with the injury. The real issue is this guy is a complete moron who can’t handle a basic press conference. How is he not more prepared for obvious questions he was going to get? If he can’t handle softball questions from the media how can he handle the communication you need to handle a locker room?

[–] Goozy89@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I think he’ll be injured until he gets healthy

[–] DevLF@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I heard he showed up to soldier field today naked under his clothes

[–] hammerSmashedNail@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He’s got a thumb

[–] Upset_Researcher_143@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Depending on how well Bagent performs tonight will determine how long Fields needs "to heal". If he plays lights out against a defense with little pass rush (especially with Burns out) and decent secondary, there will be a push to keep playing him. If he does his game manager thing that he did against the Raiders or they lose, it'll be back to Fields, assuming they haven't already given up on him

[–] Vin-Metal@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

And who really cares ... just different styles of crappiness that will be painful to watch.

[–] no-twerp@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Who gives a shit honestly? It's like no one has seen the Doubtful injury designation before.

He isn't medically cleared to play yet. I'm sure if he was, he'd be considered questionable. Due to the fact he isn't medically cleared by end of practice Wednesday, he's doubtful. Maybe he gets cleared this morning and maybe he doesnt... Hence the doubtful. If he were to get cleared this morning he could potentially play, which is why isn't considered out.

C'mon people.

[–] Toastman04@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Our coach is a dumbass who can’t even coherently rely information. This should bother you.

[–] enailcoilhelp@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I interpreted it as it'll be game-time decision...am I wrong?

[–] alral1988@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I take this whole thing to mean “he’s out but we’re listing him as doubtful to try to keep the panthers on their toes”. Horrible attempt it though

[–] Puzzleheaded-Sea-744@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

But he said Bagent would start lol

[–] elasa8@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Vibes based coach

[–] -Pruples-@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Has anyone checked if Elbowmoose had a stroke?

[–] The_Dok@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Can’t spell doubtful without Ou(b)t

[–] AdStreet2074@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The only confusing part is people calling Fields a QB…

[–] YoHoochIsCrazy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Make the opposition game plan for both QBs. It’s injury designation 101. People are so mad that Flus won’t say if Fields’ starting when the only people that benefit are the ones they’re playing tonight.

[–] rvH3Ah8zFtRX@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I honestly think it was just a slip of the tongue. It felt like he was trying to play along with the NFL's rules about the definition of Questionable vs Doubtful vs Out to leave the possibility open and force the Panthers to game plan for it. Because technically there's another day where he could theoretically get medically cleared, and then he'd play. But then let it slip that "Yeah, he's not playing." And then immediately went back to the vague "Doubtful" line.

[–] drummerboysam@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Could be the case, but didn't the OC already say the gameplan was going to be the same if it were Fields or Bagent?

[–] BlueDwarven@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Eberflus: "Hey, can I talk to you for a sec?"

Chicago media: "Yeah, hey!"

Eberflus: "Hey, um, I came up with a really great idea, dude."

Chicago media: "Yeah?"

Eberflus: "I'm gonna play both sides."

Chicago media: "Why would you tell me that?"

Eberflus: "Should I not have?"

Chicago media: "Probably shouldn't, because if you're trying to keep a secret from me, well, now I know."

Eberflus: "Should I tell the Panthers?"

Chicago media: "No, I don't think you should tell either side because if you're trying to play both sides and they both know you're not playing anybody."

Eberflus: "What should I do now?"

Chicago media: "I don't give a shit. Why are you here?"

[–] rhj2020@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Eberflus is a bumbling idiot. That’s the representative for our team folks. I want apples gone too, because he actually thinks this is the guy to lead our team. They’re both idiots.

[–] generatorland@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Damn apples!

[–] imnotberg@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The head coach interview should be a press conference.

If we hire you, are you going to make us all sound like a bunch of assholes?

[–] devinstated1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He's 51% in and out.

[–] ubeen@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

From my understanding, if they designate him as out prior to the game, he can't be dressed or participate in the pregame warm-ups.

My guess is that he is inactive but designated as Doubtful so he can participate in pregame warm-ups.

[–] eg4x15@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Could this just be an attempt at covering the game plan? Only way I can see and really back what Flus just did at the conference

[–] ParticularGlass1821@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I want Flus taken to where horses turn into glue. Wait, that's a little harsh. Maybe a non Medicaid nursing home.

[–] indecentbob@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Flus might be the worst public communicator we’ve ever had as a head coach. I wonder if that at all translates to his ability to communicate to the players and staff

[–] RedHabibi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Well the weird thing is it seems like the guys like him and they haven’t stopped playing hard.

[–] Slowest_Speed6@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly idk if I'll really pay attention to this game if he's out. I can only watch so many 3 yard screens and check downs before I fall asleep

[–] goldbricker83@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Does Everflus even know what team he coaches?

[–] generatorland@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He says he does. Or he doesn't. There are some things about them he knows, but it is what it is.
