Probably the dude i was most wrong about on this team. Hear his name much more than Edmunds… he just makes plays.
Literally was coming here to say something similar to this, lol should have known YOU would beat me to it my man.
Earlier this year when asked about players who disappointed he was one of my players. At that point in the season the defense was really struggling and he wasn’t playing well, then the interception in garbage time happened and boom. The Legend Jack Sanborn returned.
I’m happy when I’m wrong about players.
I think that goes to say, that the nfl is so different mid season. So many teams switch and players who have started cold, get into a rhythm and shine.

We’ve run so much nickel it’s dumb we paid edmunds.
Whole point of the Roquan trade was we wouldn’t pay an ILB as a rebuilding team. Then we paid a worse player almost just as much. While Sanborn and Edwards have been better for less than half the price.
It doesn’t kill us cuz we have a lot of cap space but imagine if that money went to another weapon on offense or a C or a DL. But unless the ILB is a superstar he won’t elevate the defense enough to justify that price.
In light of Roquan's recent comments, it might have been that he never wanted to come back in the first place. So Poles did the best he could if that was indeed the situation. Or Poles is an idiot, that's entirely possible too.
You're right. Roquans recent comments about the bears makes it blatantly obvious he wasnt coming back here. Not to mention he literally had his friend doing contract talks with us and not a real agent. He is unprofessional and good riddance to him.

I still like Herbert on carries but it’s clear that Foreman is better at catching and Johnson is better at pass blocking. We really do need all 3
Yes, and Johnson’s vision needs work. He’s faster and more explosive than all the RBs ahead of him on the roster (Herbert, Foreman) but he’s still playing college ball: doesn’t see a cutback, doesn’t mitigate contact in the hole, doesn’t run his routes crisply. All correctable with reps, hopefully.
Sandborn is playing at least as well as Edmunds, if not better. Just another dig at this coaching staff, how come they still don’t believe in this kid!
Jack Sanborn is a straight up DAWG! I’m annoyed he doesn’t get talked about enough in the league. I always looked at the Edmunds as well as the Edwards signings as more of a veteran/leadership thing, and hopefully to help continue to develop The Jackhammer.
The MLB decisions Poles has made are just terrible. Edmunds is terrible and the only noticeable thing about him is his ability to have absolutely zero impact. Sanborn makes plays ALL game long. We could have our MLB tied up for dirt cheap UDFA money but spent $72 million on an overrated guy because he’s…lanky (at best)

Man Poles would get a lot less shit for trading Roquan if he had just signed TJ Edwards and rolled with Sanborn instead of signing Edmunds. It's another knock on him that he really could have avoided.
