Yeah, I checked this post from incognito/lemmy.world and I saw more comments, including one replying to me that our federation might be broken, which makes sense.

ok, I found the problem. The latest version of lemmy required a change to the web server config, which I did, however I neglected to restart the web server so that config change could take effect. D'oh. amateur hour. I'm very sorry about that.
Fully understandable, I've made far worse mistakes. Again, thank you for a quick reaction and a fix.
Turns out that wasn't the problem. The problem was a bug in the lemmy release. I've been able to get that fixed now, though

Here is the full story. She falsely claimed it was a medical emergency, She took a long time to get into the Uber car on purpose. When she finally did get into the Uber car she was rude and condescending to him the whole journey then right at the end she cancelled her Uber car ride so he wouldn't get paid.
At this point she pulled out her camera and started recording and playing dumb, all in an attempt to get him to hit her so she could sue. Not that I'm a fan of uber or anything they do, but the article says it's essentially prevention from liability if your Uber driver crashes. Uber drivers are required to have their own insurance and stuff. Why should Uber get sued and not the driver if they cause a wreck and you get hurt? Uber didn't cause it.
Because they're basically employees for Uber, but are touted as "entrepreneurs".

Entrepreneur or private contractor or whatever the case. If the person driving is required to have insurance for being an Uber (they are) and the person driving causes the wreck, then Uber didn't do anything to get sued over. The driver did. The only ones that should be sued are the driver and their insurance.
Legally sp3aking, you are incorrect. Uber is responsible.
