We’re gonna lose but it’s not because of Monty lol

[–] SD40couple@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Reminder, our run defense is actually good.

[–] PhlegmaticRobot@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If there's one thing this shit ass team does well, it's stopping the run...

[–] BR1M570N3@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Like when Cedric Benson ran all over us.

[–] Cooter93@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

So be it. I mean would the team even be better if we paid him?

[–] Toontown019@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He’s great to have if your team is good, it’s just the way the business worked sadly. If we did have a game where a former player lit us up, Monty wouldn’t be the worst person to do it. I love him as a Bear and wished he hadn’t stayed in Division but hoped the best in his career

[–] TheLowlyPheasant@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

There would be more plays where our running back bounces around and refuses to go down after contact but the stats would be virtually the same. Still miss him but we don't need him.

[–] whatlambda@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

We have one of the best run defenses in the NFL.

[–] parks381@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Charges do as well, and Lions dropped 200 yards on them yesterday.

[–] vince2423@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Deadass? I’m not fighting it but that just seems weird on the ears

[–] Matzah_Rella@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Watch the Bears somehow pull a win out of their ass.

[–] fitzuha@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We gotta let the Sewell brothers face off.

[–] onemanwolfpack21@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

From all reports, we offered him a better contract, and he left anyway. That's fine for him to choose, but I don't understand why he would be salty about the Bears. I liked him as a bear. If he wants to manufacture some fake drama then fuck him. That's just dumb. It's not like he was legendary for us. He was a well-rounded back that didn't excel in any category. Im sure he is still the same guy but in a better system and with a better line. Our run D is actually decent, so we'll see what he can do. If he shreds us, so be it. I'm all aboard the, let's get these coaches fired train, so anything that's embarrassing for them is a win.

[–] lkn240@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly he saved us from ourselves then. We should not have been offering a RB any kind of moderate to big contract. This team has plenty of RBs.

[–] suckmyfatfuckinballs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This sub be like: "Pls fuck my wife MONTY luv u bby boi 🤪"

[–] TherealPattyP@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ummmm. Hardly. Best run defense

[–] TherealPattyP@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The guy is good to very good and eminently replaceable. D’Onta Foreman doing everything Monty did

[–] Katy_Lies1975@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I've seen the Lions down for so long I'm rooting for them to do well this year. My team is still bad but it wasn't bad as long as our Detroit neighbors have been. They've won in every other sport except football.

[–] happyfave@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Bears run D is quietly Playing really well

[–] PitchBlac@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They’re like second in the league in stopping the run… because we are near the bottom for pass d😂

[–] happyfave@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The Bears tore the entire roster down last year. The Defense is slowly getting better. There is hope. Lots of cap space, lots of draft capital. 2nd youngest roster in the league. Patience, patience.

[–] Prestigious_Curve_19@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Maybe his dog is still biting innocent people

[–] regis_psilocybin@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Gibbs will have a better game than Monty.

[–] knowledge84@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

On my CEO's life I bet the bears win.

[–] Cutlercares@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That's cold blooded.

[–] Neat_On_The_Rocks@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Is that an option?

In that case, on my CEO's life, I bet the Bears will win the Superbowl this season.

[–] rugbysecondrow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

WTF sort of thread is this?

[–] CoraxtheRavenLord@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My desire for my home team to win vs my fantasy team’s RB to have a great game

[–] Headwallrepeat@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So if he never played in Chicago and we were looking to add him on the depth chart he would likely be our #3 back. Nothing has magically changed with Monte, he just has a better O-line.

I'm over him. We made him a good offer and he wanted out. Fuck him and his manufactured saltiness.

[–] Sks44@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

On the one hand, our run defense is the only good part of our defense.

On the other, the Lions are gonna throw all over our asses. They have an excellent O-Line and we have fuckall passrush. The Lions are gonna kick the shit out of us(and I never thought I’d say that).

[–] we_always_on_top@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We’re gonna obliterate that pussy.

[–] phatbandit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I hope Monty gets a new personal record on the bears this weekend

[–] vince2423@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] phatbandit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

cuz hes a stud n the bears arent it right now

[–] vince2423@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That’s a good point for why he will, doesn’t really explain y u WANT him to crush ur team…

[–] phatbandit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I guess because I know he will love it because he said this is the game he was most lookin forward too, and me wanting the bears get destroyed after they already got destroyed over half the season doesn't really mean dick anymore at this point in the season? The lions got the legit superbowl shot so lets see them get to the superbowl and lets see us tank for picks

[–] the-cream-police@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I really hope sanborn comes to play this weekend. Otherwise, this could get out of hand.

[–] Gryffindorq@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

love Monty. wish he was here. glad he’s doing well in Detroit

our current RB room is outstanding and i agree with the approach. we have several excellent football players and nothing we have to break the bank for. i would bet we’re at or near the top of the league in cost-effectiveness of our RBs (something like pff score or ypc of our top 3 divided by salary cap dollars spent)

[–] phishin3321@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I love Monty but our run D has been pretty good. Will be interesting to see what happens!

Sunday, Fields faces a Lions defense that has given up 30 points per game since Week 7, the most in the NFL.
