I don't see why it shouldn't be. We're all Spartacus.

Please respect Lemmy.world ToS. Don't plot who should be murdered next in this community.
How many lives did Luigi save in the weeks afterwards when the health insurance companies took notice?
You could argue that on balance, he was actually saving lives. Just like soldiers do in war. Just like police do in the street.
Police save lives in the streets? Barely.
I think I remember reading that only 2 or 3 % of major crimes get solved by police officers based on a study I read a while back. https://prismreports.org/2022/02/23/police-dont-stop-crime-but-you-wouldnt-know-it-from-the-news/
The best way to prevent crime is to give peoplw what they need to survive , thrive and be happy. Like universal mental and health care, access to brith controls, housing, labor that actually helps your community and has reasonable hours, etc... Social programs that give workers what they need will ALWAYS do far more to prevent people from losing their lives than police ever have or ever will.
Thats why crimes amongst those who are very rich tend to be financial crimes like not providing workers with protective equipment or machinery, tax evasion and wage theft but rarely ever violent crime. Crimes amongst the poor tend to be a notably larger combination of both. Ya, because if youve been impoverished, ignored, and had your psychological issues ignored your whole life crimes of violence and even robbery dont seem like the worse idea.
Im not advocating for violent crime though Im just saying that if we give people what they need to be happy in life? Theyll rarely ever resort to viopent crime that will end the lives of other people. THAT is how you save lives . Not more police. Not police reforms. Not even reforms in general. But a complete revolution of society that places humanity and humanity's needs at the centre of everything we plan and do....but will this happen?...Hmmm welp we have to see if humanity wants this change to happen
Very few rich kids with loving parents, parents that make time for those kids, ever end up growing up and joining into a violent trafficking, drug manufacturing and drug distribution gangs right?
We also don't know that it was Luigi. It was someone for sure, but Luigi could easily have been framed. Circumstances were a bit too perfect and the chain of custody of the evidence was all messed up IIRC
Not saying it was definitely someone else, but I reckon there's reasonable doubt.
Reading your comment be like

How crazy would it be if he actually didn't do it??
He couldn't have done it, he was at my house playing halo 3 and drinking game fuel
I remember that. Frankly, he was a mid Halo player. He was definitely present and not murdering anyone, though.
(*) he was definitely not executing someone in a justified act of self defence.
Ftfy.
i have never bought into the story that he did it.
50/50 in my mind.
Like yes police incompetence should be expected, but they broke every rule arresting him, searching his bag, etc etc. Evidence being inadmissible aside, the police did a great job of substantiating our suspicions that Luigi was framed.
On the other hand, this doesn't sound like someone who didn't do it. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/R7R6dmYOVfc
Like maybe he's alluding to the framing being an insult to the american people. But me personally if I was being framed by the government and desperately trying to get help, I would say it more plainly.
Doesn’t take too much incorrect procedure for a case like this to fall apart
Regardless of guilt
As it should.
The police cornering someone in a McDonalds and "finding" evidence behind a wall of officers with zero transparency is exactly why courts shouldn't admit such evidence.
Maybe if police didn't have a documented history and widely known legacy of false imprisonment, planting evidence, and down right corruption...
If he did, literally all the evidence was faked in a parallel construction so obvious it makes me doubt these people could have managed any other in history. It makes me question whether drug dogs might even be a real thing
He didn't do it he was with me December 4 in California
I would love to see him get acquitted...then walk out of the courtroom and straight up admit that he did it, to all the media waiting for a statement.
Double jeopardy, bitch!
Double jeopardy doesn't prevent him from being liable for civil damages. The family could sue and ruin his life still.
Don't forget how the OJ trial went.
I’d argue a lot of that life ruining stuff was his own doing and not him losing in civil court haha.
Did he ever actually pay?
I only saw him dispose of a parasite, no human was harmed.
I mostly remember the billionaire reactions about it.
Musk, Don Jr and others. At first my impression is, why they are so vocal about it, it is unrelated to them, then I realized that they see themselves as a different class (not plebs like us) and in their eyes this was a class war and somebody from the plebs killed someone in the Epstein class scared them shitless.
walk out of the courtroom and straight up admit that he did it
That's not how Double Jeopardy works. You'd be introducing new evidence which could be used to appeal and retry the case.
Mangione is also open to both federal and state charges. So he's going to go from one courtroom directly into another.
Appreciate this post but can we generally share links to articles instead of just screenshots.
His lawyers and he know exactly what kind of sham trial the prosecution is planning on behalf of their corporate oligarchs. Making it completely transparent is the only chance they have.
If YoU aReNt DoInG aNyThInG wRoNg ThEn YoU hAvE nOtHiNg To HiDe!
They broadcast the OJ Trial, they should broadcast Luigi's trial.
The prosecution is scared shitless that the concept of Jury Nullification will become mainstream, and if the Cirizens realize they can just release anyone they want to, then MAGA won't be able to win their bullshit cases.
They should start using the surveillance arguments here. "If you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to hide."
I want to hear the Prosecutors arguments against that.

Yes absolutely!
of course, how else would be able to tell the court he was with various people during the shooting and is being FRAMED.
the court also doesnt want to admit they likely use AI/palantir to identify and locate him, and they "mysterious TIPSTER" at mcdonalds likely dint exist.
I understand the prosecution on this one. Luigi is way too hot for television
Think of the economic damage alone, the lost productivity alone...
