There is more than one, but the other might have stopped.
Basically insulting me or telling me how stupid and wrong I am because I am... not them and don't share their opinion.
A lot of people lack the imagination to understand other people are not them and that's... OK. Same folks who love to tell you how if you don't agree with them or feel bad for their 'suffering' you 'lack empathy' or 'need therapy.'
I just find the amount of entitlement... in most internet users and also IRL to be baffling compared to like 10-20 years ago. I missed this memo in life where other people owe me and must agree with me or they are wrong and bad and should be insulted and harassed. But it seems to be the default mode of a huge chuck of the population these days.
Expressing only absolute opinions.
The world is rarely black or white, but some people act as if it is, and take any suggestion of a possible intermediate 'gray' as confirmation you must be on the 'opposing side'.
You can't have sensible discussion with someone who already decided they are right.
Displaying lack of nuance
There are certain keywords that, when present in the title, reliably produce a comment section that will give you brain damage by just attempting to read through it. My list of content filters is hundreds of items long. It automatically hides about 2/3 of the posts on any news community and of the remaining ones I then manually hide multiple more. This includes even things I'm genuinely into but have learned not to even try to engage with here - I go elsewhere for difficult conversations.

I'm a member on a subscription-based platform with 24k paying users who go out of their way to be decent towards you even in disagreement. It's like a room full of adults. And no, I'm not going to publicly disclose what platform I'm talking about exactly - sorry.

some are not asking for engagement. I will comment. never tried it or something but I assume most will not really reply to it. It means im interested but I have no experience with the thing. granted this is the internet so my interest may be just enough to type a bit.
