Yet they’re 9 and 1. Hurts has weapons, an OLine, and a defense. No one is ever clamoring for Philly to draft a QB.

He’s 15/9 TD/INT (has 9 rushing TDs but many are the tush push) with 4 fumbles.

This feels like people on the Broncos sub defending Wilson's weak play. They keep pointing out how Wilson is just as good as Myhomes this season.

Justin Fields threw for 99 yards against KC.

[–] Cant_Spell_Shit@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fields is averaging somewhere around 160 passing YPG for his entire career. This bad night for Jalen Hurts in the rain is what Fields does on average... This is such a stupid take.

[–] Gryffindorq@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

theyd eviscerate Mahomes too

zomg took a bad sack

zomg fewest 2nd half pts in NFL

zomg went for it all and threw a perfect ball to Scantling who missed it - he shoulda took the open 6 yard play and just executed!

zomg held the ball and had intentional on key 3rd down late!

zomg x 20 other things u could say

Even if it turns out that Hurts is the worst QB of all time and his success is totally a result of having a stacked team, how does that help us? What does that have to do with Fields? We don't have a stacked team with great coaching. We have bad coaches and below average talent. Who cares if Fields could have been something for some other team in some other existence if circumstances were different? We have to make a decision about his 5th year option and we are likely to have the #1 overall pick. We already passed up on what looks like an MVP level QB in CJ Stroud in this most recent draft. We can't pass on a chance at the top QB prospect again. That's just dumb.

Build strawman, beat strawman, victory!

[–] GayKnockedLooseFan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This sub would also demand his white back up that has no business playing should be starting over him and then get really pissy at the idea that a significant portion of this fanbase is racist

[–] Votanin@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

And he won. Fields get eviscerated because he loses.

[–] smokinjo03@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This has been fields’ stat like for 90% of the games he’s played

[–] MonsignorHalas@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What is his QBR in crunch time?

Situational intelligence is worth more than any stat line.

When it counted Hurts throws to Smith and he makes a great catch.

[–] AdStreet2074@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You field truthers need to stop coping and learn to move on from a bust

[–] LegendaryWarriorPoet@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It’s really noticeable that the fields folks usually back up what they’re saying with specific examples or statistics, whereas the field haters usually just throw out insults and fake edgy one-liners they saw on political Twitter lol

[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s so funny because when I will try to defend Fields with both subjective and objective arguments.

But these clowns just get to say whatever they want. Like anyone who still thinks he’s the worst QB in the league is just trolling at this point.

[–] lingley@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Not if he won

[–] SD40couple@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Hurts is similar to fields, except he has talent all over that team. Soon they will be regretting his contract and releasing him in a couple years.

[–] whatever12347@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

Jalen Hurts is mediocre this year.

[–] InsideHangar18@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Nearly every QB’s numbers are down this year. Defenses are just better across the board.

[–] Apotheosis69420@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

15 td to 9 int and still has a 94.8. Man, just how rough really was Jay Cutler

Which is okay because a team that stacked only needs the QB to do what is asked of them to get wins (like Brock Purdy)

They’re 9-1 lmao

Mahomes looked bad too. They were playing in heavy rain.

I think Hurts is overrated but comparing him to Fields is dumb.

Watching this game, both QBs had terrible plays that would get Fields eviscerated. He's not them, but they're just as human as he is.

If we beat KC I doubt we’d give a fuck.

[–] pleasedontbingme@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Isn’t that the point of the post? That whether the team won or not shouldn’t jade your view of individual performances positively or negatively?

Also we aren’t fucking 9-1. This post is so dumb

So is this the standard to judge fields by. That he’s potentially better than hurts.

[–] Lysol20@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The good news here is the Eagles could rest starters that last game.

[–] Significant_Cycle_76@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Jalen hurts has proven for 2 seasons that he can get the job done. Justin Fields hasn’t. This is a big yikes

[–] Apotheosis69420@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

I disagree with the big yikes. Freaky Friday their careers and Hurts is playing in chi much worse than Fields is playing in PHI.

Right. I critique Fields for these stat lines because it’s a typical game for Justin. This is an anomaly for Hurts. Just is 7-27 lifetime with no playoff appearances. Hurts is neck and neck in the MVP race with Mahomes (probably leading after last night) and almost won the Super Bowl last year and puts up monster stats most weeks.

Hurts’ team just beat the Chiefs, at Arrowhead, in the rain, the Chiefs very rarely lose at home. Fields had 99 yards against the Chiefs in nice fall weather. The Chiefs defense has also improved throughout the year. He’s piss, get over it.

[–] carminie@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Justin Fields has not taken this team to the Super Bowl. Hurts also has some pretty great passing performances under his belt, while Fields has only started to improve his passing numbers this year. Hurts also has a top OL and two top WRs as well as a stacked defense that keeps them in games.

[–] coolstorybro42@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

hurts went out and won that game. fields just turns it over

Sexy rexy wasn’t great but he was the qb for a mostly good period of bears seasons. If JF1 was on a winning team there would still be people questioning his play, but he’d be an icon. Currently he represents a team that is terrible, not even likable, and unable to win games at an acceptable rate. Such is his legacy. Amen

[–] jack121013@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You said it yourself. He has 24 tds and 9 wins. Youre dumb as shit if you think us fans wouldnt be happy with those numbers from fields

[–] ChiBeerGuy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

A lot of people in this sub have this idea that a QB is magic and can overcome a shitty team and coaching. That is why they are so quick to draft the next QB. It was all Trubisky's fault, now it's all Fields' fault and next it will be all Williams' fault.

Get Fields a good team and he’s gonna have a better future than Lawrence and Hurts.

[–] axman54@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

I say this as someone who likes Fields, but he wouldn’t get eviscerated after a game like this if he was playing like Jalen Hurts in all the other games lol. It’s pretty simple—star player gets benefit of the doubt for lackluster game while the player who consistently has games like this is more regularly criticized.

We don’t need to do this after every primetime game where a good QB underperforms. We’ve seen Fields play terrible and we’ve seen him play great. He needs to keep stacking positive games and get more consistent in the pass game.

The reality is, Hurts wins games so he gets rated probably higher than he deserves. He's also created some game winning drives. That's the part we need to see from Fields which we haven't.

Let me add: I'm a Fields supporter and want the Bears to keep him. I think they can win with him. That said, we do have to see him play better at the end of the game (final two drives). I thought he showed signs of that (that bomb he through to Scott should've been caught) but we NEED TO SEE RESULTS.

They won the game and hurts was mvp las5 year

This is so fucking stupid

[–] Obi-WansForceGhost@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The problem is the coaches. Bears currently have a top 10 ranked offensive line. They have DJ Moore. Cole Kmet is currently the ranked 4th TE. The defense is actually pretty decent. The one thing that keeps getting in the way is coaching. After the first 12 scripted plays where the Bears offense looks good then Getsy takes over and it goes to shit. When we have a lead Eberflus goes ultra conservative and Bears lose. The coaching staff is the actual problem that is holding this team back.

[–] theskyalreadyfell217@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Another Ohio state fan with a garbage post.

Are you guys just trolling at this point?

[–] phillipacarroll@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Remember when Justin played the Chiefs and went 11/22 for 99 yards and 1/1?

[–] obi-1-jacoby@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The difference is the Eagles win games. It’s easy to overlook mediocre numbers when you’re still getting results.

I think people are over critical of Fields, this sub especially, but it’s a lot easier to put a QB under a microscope when their team sucks. Fans are frustrated and looking for answers and it’s easy to blame the guy running the show

[–] CinnamonSkillz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Hurts under throws Dvonta Smith and he slows down and makes a nasty snag for the longest completion that game, JF throws a dime and our guy slows down and completely whiffs. Tell me how drafting MHJ isnt the best option at this point again…

Dude was playing in pissing rain that severely hampered the passing game for both teams. Also laughable that you try to casually write off the fact that 9 rushing tds have to be added to Hurts’ statline. Guys a proven winner. Makes big plays late in games. The infrastructure and playcalling around Fields is inarguably worse, but he also fails to show up late in games. He’s had over 10 4th qtr comeback opportunities in his career now and has converted 1 of them. ONE!

[–] Opportunity_Knocks23@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I mean in fairness here Justin fields threw for 90 something yards in a blowout loss to the Chiefs in week 3 so…. Lol

[–] GoBears6@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yeh except he won, Fields loses every fucking game
