Trump is ultimately a very weak person. Fragile.

The most fragile. Fragility like you've never seen before. Many people are saying it.
Can’t we just start with the impeachments already
Why, what's the point? He gets to parade around another impeachment that he beat?
He didn’t beat anything, the system just can’t get it hard anymore. Basically impeachments are our governments version of getting a chub. The only time our government gets hard anymore is when it’s figuring out how to fuck their constituents harder for their rich backers. Rock hard with bulbous veins
Well now I'm angry and horny. Thanks.
I like your snappy patter, kid. Change 'bulbous' to 'throbbing' and we're talking Pulitzer here! /s
Unfortunately true. 2/3s of the Senate won't ever agree to remove him. If they did it would be like admitting fault. Which would enable someone to prosecute the people who enabled it, which are the people who put them there.
I'd love to see people like Carr brought up on charges of treason.
No, but be sure to vote this year and we may be able to start some impeachments in January.
Al Green lost his primary, so no.
This sounds long and drawn out. Find a quicker solution
Donald Trump is the weakest man in the world.
It used to be Bigboote, but now it's this guy.
A pathetic little man intimidated by yet another woman.
So why the fuck did two thirds of the country let him take power.
So why the fuck did two thirds of the country let him take power.
Two answers. Either racism, or because there was a genocide being done somewhere else by someone else, and it was easier to let him be elected than it was to vote for a candidate who didn't expressly say she would do enough about it, also, he said he would make the genocide much worse and would get us more involved in it.
You are assigning way too much intent here
1/3 of the country just didn't give a shit
A bunch of the other 1/3 had tons of reasons but most of them were really really stupid. "He said he is going to give me more money" was definitely a real chunk. A bunch of the other chunk was "democrat bad" brainwashing or "stuck it to the libs".
Racism is mixed in there a good bit but studies have shown most of the reasons were even more brainless
We all saw the wave of social media activity in 2024 all centered around "Don't vote for Kamala because she isn't vocal enough against israel" while ignoring "Donald Drumpf is literally promising to make the genocide worse."
And now you want to say we're assigning too much intent? Like we're just supposed to pretend that didn't happen and we didn't see it?
We're not maga republicans here, our memories are not that short. Don't gaslight us.
Yeah, it's a lemmy comment. I decided to type up a quick snarky comment rather than write a poli-sci doctoral dissertation on the Social, Economic and Racial influence during the 2024 US General Election cycle and their effect on the outcome on the Office of the President.
There's a pretty wide gap between "shitty take" and "doctoral thesis"
My point though was more just that I hate seeing it boiled down to these two things because it's really not the answer. It's too easy to just dismiss 2/3 of the country as racists/Israel supporters and won't help anything. But I see it a lot.
Well, you left out the billionaires who knew trump was going to slash taxes for the weahthy and open up the government to be pay-to-play. Oh, and there are the odd-jobs in the black community who vote Republicans because they feel like Dems pander toward minorities without every actually helping them, and at least Republicans are honest about being racist assholes. There were also people who wanted the war in Ukraine to end, and Trump said he would end that on day one. I also remember people talking about getting to the truth of the 2020 election. And there were people who wanted to secure the Dobbs SC ruling and go even further to ban abortion and birth control at a federal level. Oh, and crypto bros who wanted their shit to be unregulated...
These are just scratching the surface, I'm looking forward to your full comment where you pick apart the nuances within each of those groups and add in a few thousand more. Really hate to see politics "boiled down" to just a few things.
Two thirds of the country might be kind of shitty people.
Because Musk and Putin cheated, and we all know it. Schmuck & Jeffries declared it "Fair & Square" the moment it was over, because they were more interested in being smug about demonstrating a peaceful transfer of power, than actually ruling. Besides, their Sociopathic Oligarch slavemasters told them so.
It was only about one third of the country. Another one third didn't bother voting.
But a significant part of that one third of the country who voted for him (and the 1/3 who opted out entirely) just couldn't seriously consider voting for a woman for President. It's that simple. They're all intimidated by the thought of a woman taking that last step towards real power.
Because enough people believe his lies.
I don’t know what is wrong with people, it was plain as day that he was constantly lying, and everything that has come to pass was loudly broadcast during the campaign.
That and racism.
Trump is a pathetic little bitch
He turned our country into a fucking nightmare.
No the voters did. Any moron can be a candidate, millions of people still need to vote for the moron. And so they did, multiple times
Yes, tiktok helped spread the propaganda and will again, maybe won't work this time, but in '28 they'll say Dems didn't fix it all in 2 years so blame them and vote maga again. They go by feels and the propaganda, don't understand it and too stressed to learn more to do better.
Hoe anyone can take anything serious on social media, especially TikTok, is beyond me.
Oh but let's not forget about the morons who voted for him
Twice.
Thrice
Yeah, go take a flying fuck at a rolling donut, loser.
What a whiny little snot.
Carr is yet another dweeb that needs to be put on a list for immediate legal action as soon as we have any power again. That shithead is such a smug little man and conservatives will learn nothing from any of this if people like Carr are not given maximum punishments possible.
America is a fascist state, run by a rapist whose citizenry refuse to do anything about it.
What would you have us do, o brave leader?
Voting would be a start.
Done, always, of course. What else do you have?
don't let Octogenarians run your country no matter what party they are in.
Great idea - can you describe the how for that one? Or is it just hope that everyone votes?
Not much, talk to others about the importance of voting. In a system that has been rigged there isn’t a lot that can be done except vote and civil disobedience.
Q: explain what type of system tries to silence reporters, revoke broadcast license, make false claims and never correct, and these are about issues of human rights and democracy, supposed freedoms.
A: This is deployed by antidemocratic leaders: economic pressure, politicized legal action, regulatory abuse, and co-optation of media outlets. The goal is to eliminate reporting on human rights and democratic issues, the very "supposed freedoms" that the regime nominally upholds in its constitution but systematically undermines in practice.
Hopefully they don't release a poll saying that trump is a shoo-in the night before the November elections voting, because too many people believe those useless, propaganda polls.
FreshParsnip calls for Trump to face rebuke AND punishment. We can pick one crime a day and rebuke and punish him indefinitely
