I sure hope the Trump administration doesn't try to save these fuckers.

[–] LazyOldPervert@lemmus.org 1 points 8 minutes ago

Don't give them ideas, a lot of "people" in that administration apparently love to fuck children

[–] Sylvartas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Pedo, grifter, egoistical, bad at money laundering, constantly talks about masculinity and shit while acting like a giant crybaby, entire personality revolves about being perceived as the manliest manly man while looking like an absolute goblin (with expensive tacky clothes on top). Has an IQ lower than his anal temperature in ~~normal units~~ °C.

If you still have no idea whether it's about Tate or Trump... well, that's why I think the Trump administration will definitely try to save these fuckers

OTOH trump may want to eliminate the competition.

“sex with a minor” -> rape of a child

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 30 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Turns out most dudes's cheering on of macho dickheads that take advantage of woman, ends with their own daughters. Who knew? /s

Fuck this guy. First tough guy I've known trying to be hyper masculine that wears woman's blouses, felt I had to add that.

[–] myyass@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

I've worked with a fair share of people that have well, killed lots of people. They looked out for me. This guy is ... I don't know looks and sounds weak? Like he would hide under the blouse at the sound of a shot.

[–] bowsertattoo@piefed.social 32 points 13 hours ago (4 children)

Why wasn't this guy arrested years ago?

[–] Kazumara@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 4 hours ago

Both Tates were arrested in Romania in 2022.

There is an arrest warrant out for them in the United Kingdom since 2024.

They were arrested in the United States in 2026 under the extradition request of the UK.

[–] Vex_Detrause@lemmy.ca 9 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Didn't trump pardon him? Or ask Romania to transfer him to US.

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 8 points 5 hours ago

A Trump official visited the Romanian authorities and the next day the Tates travel restrictions were lifted.

[–] fyzzlefry@retrolemmy.com 8 points 10 hours ago

Right? Why has this been hard?

[–] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 6 points 11 hours ago (5 children)

Ircc he was, then released on house arrest, no clue what happened to that cause you know he famously got arrested in Florida recently, and last I checked that ain't Romania. He's probably lining someone's pockets.

It's well known that a $1,000,000 'donation' to Trump gets the donor a Presidential pardon for anything.

[–] mwguy 4 points 9 hours ago

I still don't understand why he came to America. He's got to know we have extradition treaties.

[–] myyass@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

I don't know, but he sounds like some people I've met. When I was in Dublin, in a pub, this one Romanian guy proceeded to try and tell a joke... ugh the punchline was "it was womans" and it was good my buddy was there and bought him a pint to shut him up since I was already 10-12 pints deep. If you question that part; there may have been some "smelling salts" and plenty of cigarettes involved. Sorry for the rant it just grinds my gears.

Well Tate has now acquired everything he needs to run for president…

[–] Dojan@pawb.social 235 points 17 hours ago (18 children)

Sex with minors isn’t a thing. It’s called rape.

[–] realitaetsverlust@piefed.zip 7 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I don't think Romanian law sees it like that. Minors above 14 can technically consent to sexual acts with adults, which makes it still illegal, but not rape and carries a much lighter sentence.

German law (and quite a few other European countries) is even more relaxed in that regard, while it's still technically illegal to have sex with minors aged 14+, if they consented and weren't somehow pressured etc, there will usually be no prosecution.

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 100 points 17 hours ago (5 children)

It’s only rape if the rapist is poor. If they are rich, it’s called Thursday.

[–] a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world 28 points 17 hours ago (3 children)

Since this effect lacks a proper name outside of the date, why don't we invent a new one. I propose Trumpstein.

While I agree, the way the article is worded makes me suspect that is the name of the crime they’re accused of.

Sort of like how Trump was found liable for “sexual abuse”, because the jurisdiction it occurred in strictly defines rape as penis-in-vagina sex. And since he “only” (ugh) used his fingers, it wasn’t technically rape as far as the law was concerned. But the judge who oversaw the case later had to clarify that it would colloquially be referred to as rape, even though that wasn’t the technical term that the lawsuit used. Because Trump was trying to use the “well I wasn’t found liable for rape, so she can’t say I raped her” argument in his defamation lawsuit.

"...the world knows Andrew and Tristan are innocent."

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 69 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

Didn’t we already go through this?

[–] Pegajace@lemmy.world 55 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (2 children)

Sort of. This is a new set of charges, it's unclear from the article how much overlap it shares with the previous case.

The Tate brothers have been under criminal investigation in Romania on charges including human trafficking since December 2022. They were arrested in late 2022 and later indicted on charges they participated in a criminal ring that lured women to Romania, where they were sexually exploited, but a court later ruled that case could not go to trial because of multiple legal and procedural irregularities on the prosecutors' part.

Kind of? They were indicted in Romania a while back, but those charges were quickly dropped because the investigators fumbled some key evidence. This is a new set of charges, supposedly with new evidence that isn’t mired in procedural issues. They are already trying to fight their extradition to the UK for rape charges, so this is another set of charges to add to the list.

So why didn't they keep him? They could have sent them back after doing time.

[–] Jiral@lemmy.world 7 points 13 hours ago

Because corruption and/or the US pushing hard for it and they'd not ready to fight over it.

[–] Alexfire@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago

Q: What % of people that are abusive in the various ways, some even convicted of crimes, support controlling, authoritarian ways, vs warm and authoritative ways, equality, etc?

A: If you group all abusers together, roughly 85% to 90% actively support or default to controlling, authoritarian methods to handle their relationships. The remaining 10% to 15% might state they believe in equality or warmth, but their personal actions fundamentally break those principles due to antisocial traits or psychological instability.
