https://lemy.lol is a small (43 users a day) Lemmy instance that federates with Hexbear and Lemmygrad and blocks Threads. Their admin seems open to learning more about gender, and they have built off of @CannotSleep420@hexbear.net's lemmy-bot.
hexbear
Now that the old Hexbear fork has been officially abandoned, this community will be used as a space for meta-discussion on the site itself.
voltage.vn microinstance for a guy from vietnam who posts interesting engineering content.
feddit.de is a German-speaking alternative, independent and self-managed space for free exchange of views, beyond the control of large tech companies. They have upgraded to Lemmy v0.19.0, meaning that their users can decide for themselves which instances to block, in the marketplace of ideas.
lemmy.VG is an anarchist, vegan-only Lemmy server existing to provide the vegan community safe access to the Fediverse, and they federate with Hexbear and Lemmygrad. It hosts https://lemmy.vg/c/vegancirclejerk, which has 231 daily users.
Hey, is there a good reason we don’t federate with https://slrpnk.net/ ? I just ask because it’s an anarchist environmentalist instance with no porn and no bigotry (that I’ve seen). I haven’t spent much time analysing it but from first impressions it looks to be both fairly active and feels like it may have users who would be more or less aligned with hexbear even if they are federated with some worse instances.
is there a history with sh.itjust.works? I just want to subscribe to https://sh.itjust.works/c/unions for union news
edit: oop, just read the comment in the defederation nomination post. lmao nevermind

https://lemmy.tf/ is Just Another Lemmy Server with 10 monthly users that federates with Hexbear and Lemmygrad. Their most active community is https://lemmy.ml/c/folkpunk@lemmy.tf where they say "Nazis punks fuck off" in their sidebar
lemmy.sdfeu.org is from the same crowd that runs lemmy.sdf.org (just from another CDN). The latter is federated but not the first.
Any chance of linking them? They have a no defederation policy, but I can't see your posts from my main instance.
urbanists.social, urbanism focused Mastodon instance run by a communist
blackqueer.life, Mastodon instance for black/queer folks run by a communist
midwest.social, left-friendly Lemmy instance focused on the US midwest
Those all sound amazing
The fediverse is absolutely popping with good communities. It's why I'd prefer a blocklist rather than an allow list.
pawb.social yiffit.net - furries
Reason: The internet is a greyer, duller place without them.
Let's break into the kbinverse.
-
kbin.social: flagship general purpose instance, about 20k active users. Typical lib stuff.
-
fedia.io: Second largest, general purpose, run by the admins of infosec.exchange Masto instance.
