How many of you guys wear your AW 24/7? I’ve been only wearing it as a watch. Not really even working out in it since I have Whoop but I’m interested in utilizing more of the features such as HRV, V2O, etc. but I feel like I will have to wear it 24/7. I usually only wear my AW only during work.

I do. Hey only times I take it off are when I’m about to shower and when the battery alerts me that it’s about to die.

[–] rescuedmutt@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I do not. i always take it off for bed.

[–] Neuromancer2112@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

On the AW Series 8, I pretty much only wore it at work, then let it charge back up, and would use it to track sleep.

Now that I have the Ultra 2, I can actually go over a day without taking it off, thanks to the better battery life. So the only times I take the watch off are for charging and taking a shower.

[–] LitBit_618@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nope. Wear it during the day. At night it’s charging & I wear an oura ring for sleep tracking.

[–] juicyb09@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yes! I charge it when I commute to work or in the car on the way somewhere or just sitting around. I love the sleep tracking feature.

[–] Kirbster66@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I do. Brief charge in the AM when I'm showering, etc. and briefly at night before bed. Otherwise, it's pretty much always on my wrist. Ultra 2.

[–] techtom10@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

24/7 for me. If you got into settings and turn on Afib on your watch it takes more HRV readings. I have a band which can go on my wrist but also adjust to wear higher up my arm. So if I want to wear my fancy watch I just have the watch at the top of my forearm under a shirt.

I've been collecting HR data since Series 0

[–] Kitty_Fruit_2520@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I only take mine off to charge and/or shower.

[–] NiceUsernameMeHave@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wear it all the time except when I’m going for a shower.

[–] lobsterp0t@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I do, and I left my charger at a friends the other day, so it’s very disorienting not to have it on right now. I miss the sleep monitoring and more accurate step counting.

[–] avebelle@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wear it like 23.5/7 haha. Just take it off to charge when I shower.

[–] lmea14@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Me. Except for when I put it on the charger when I shower.

AutoSleep is great for tracking sleep, so I wear the watch overnight for that.

[–] shm8661@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yes. Charge it while driving

[–] Kranon7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wear it to sleep and then charge it while I shower and get ready for the day. It is fully charged when I leave for work or whatever other thing I am doing.

[–] JoelSlBaron@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yes it’s my safety net for when I have a epic seizures and if I happen to fall, it will call 911 for me

I do. The vibrating alarm has been a fantastic addition to my life.

[–] CapnCatie@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Literally saves me every morning.

all the time, i charge it while sedentary at my desk working, i wear it in the shower too (yes i know you’re not supposed to). the only actual time it’s off my wrist is when im in the sauna or steam room

[–] Veriliann@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

well it’s a watch sooo…yes lol

[–] ProfessionalLazy1230@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don’t wear it when I shower or in bed

[–] quadpop@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wear my AWU2 24/7. I charge it every 2.5 days.

[–] RunUpTheHillGD@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Not charging nor shower

[–] 15092023@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I take it off to charge while I drink coffee at my desk first thing in the morning and when I shower at night. If you mean “At all times except the time required to charge it” then yes.

[–] ComradeBirdbrain@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No. It doesn’t hold the charge to last all day and all night. Garmin does and I’ve previously used that all day and all night but you need to give your wrist some air.

I think the best option is an Oura ring for 24/7 use and Apple Watch for daytime use and exercise.

My experience of the HRV, Vo2 Max stuff on Apple Watch has been hit and miss though. Vo2 Max especially. I’m not quite where I’d expect to be on Apple.

[–] desertlobo55@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I had a two for one special and didn’t have anything to do with the second. So I literally just have two that I alternate every day. I wear one of those two watches always. I really appreciate having them and now I feel like it’s basically part of my skin lol

[–] Worth_Ad_5308@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

3 years ago me and my wife bought our watches together. 44mm both. She doesn’t use it any more so now I use both. When one battery gets low I switch to the other. So yeah 24/7

[–] theplasticfantasty@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wear it anytime I’m not at home (work/gym/errands), mostly so I can keep my phone in my bag. I don’t wear it around the house unless I’m on the treadmill and I tried wearing it to sleep to track it but it was too uncomfortable lol

[–] abnerkravitz860@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No, I don't wear it when I sleep. Those metrics don't interest me

[–] gioru@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yep. But I usually switch to my garmin for training. Then back to Ultra.

[–] Klutzy_Business3585@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Do you like your garmin better for training? I was thinking about switching over to Garmin once

[–] gioru@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I love both watches. But for training Garmin ( mine Tactix 7 pro )is always my choise. Bigger screen, better app and algorithms. Offline gps whitout any need to purchase or subscription. Touch screen is very poor while training outdoors. While swimming ultra has very poor gps and water lock makes very complicated to switch data pages and commands. Battery life has no comparison. MIL display is not so cool but you can train and hiking for very long time. Otherwise Ultra is very cool for everyday use. Looks good at booth work and formal event and oblivious in spare time. Is good if you have a recreative running or some Kind of sport. Also you can switch an infinite numbers of wrist band. It’s also smaller and much light than my garmin. I think for me habit is a factor. I’d start training many years ago with garmin and switch to ultra is very difficult.

[–] marcelocampiglia@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wear an Apple Watch at all times, an Apple Watch Series 7 during the day for almost all, and an Apple Watch Series 4 at night for Sleep tracking.

[–] rresende@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No. Sometimes need to charge.

[–] KnightWolf-@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I only take it off to charge it while I’m in the shower

[–] M27TN@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don’t wear it at night. I sometimes only put it on for my first walk of the day so if not before work then lunchtime. I also like to wear a normal watch occasionally to go out or to the office etc

[–] Neomastermind@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wear it to work or when I’m going to be out of the house for an extended period of time. Otherwise, it’s on the charger.

[–] gentlegiant80@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nearly all the time. About an hour for charging. Maybe more I’ve closed all my rings early and aren’t going to do anything else but layabout,

[–] SirhcCheri@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

If there was a 25/7, I’d be wearing it 25/7.

I wish I could, but I develop an allergic reaction to the watch if I do.

[–] gideonboxer@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yea, only take it off for cleaning and charging.

[–] jwalk128@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I've got heart and sleep problems so I definitely keep mine on 24/7 other than to charge every few days and shower.

[–] NekoLu@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I mainly bought it for sleep tracking, so it is always on my wrist at night, and most of the day too -except when I forget to put it on from the charger

[–] MattW22192@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don’t wear mine when I’m at home but a lot of that was from my prior AW 4 with sport band being uncomfortable for me to wear for extended periods of time which I’m trying to change since the Milanese loop on my new watch is much more comfortable.

[–] xxn78@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)
[–] 15092023@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Sleep tracking is 1/3 the reason I bought it. I hope you sleep well.

Except for the 2 hours every two days when I charge, and during my daily showers.

[–] Laketech@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

I have a couple Apple Watches. There is always one on my wrist.
