I don’t watch college ball, but apparently this guy is really surefire right? Like he’s so good he somehow won’t be a bust or something?

Prediction: They use one of the picks on a QB and trade the other one away for more picks. GM is fired after the draft and the new GM talk for the next 4 years about how THIS QB isn't "his guy." Fields is benched in WK2 next season and we ruin another 1st Rnd QB.

[–] Excellent-Car-6543@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Ya'll need better QB play.

[–] HoneyBooBooMan@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Not gonna last to five. arizona will def pick him

[–] nigeldog@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think he’s a lock for the top 3, so we either need to use the Panthers pick on him, or he’ll be gone.

[–] pm_me_your_bbq_sauce@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It aint a qb we need. Its a whole fucking team, mqnagment, ownership, coaches....

[–] StegoJoe16@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I’d love to live in a world where the Bears could trade from 1 to 3 and pick him. That would be ideal.

[–] sleeptilnoonenergy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I would not mind living in this world if we also had pick 2 and drafted someone to throw to him.

[–] cph14@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He won't get passed pick 3.

[–] NotAngryOWD@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Doing this would enable them to do what they were hoping to accomplish when they still believed it might be possible to coach up Chase Claypool. So the their minds are already thinking in that direction.

[–] RDcsmd@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I do believe it's a guarantee that Marvin Harrison Jr is on the bears. NFCN will have the two best WRs in the league

Justin Fields throwing to MHJ might go down as one of the supreme wastes of WR talents in NFL history.

The tone in this sub will drastically change if Fields has a couple shitty games in the final 6. I still don’t believe we’d be able to get a quality head coach is he’s gonna be forced to inherit Fields. MHJr. will not mask inconsistent QB play. He won’t stop Fields from having to run the ball 15+ times a game for him to be successful. We NEED to draft the best QB on the board, and if that’s Williams at #1, then so be it. I’d rather we trade down with our own pick, secure a 2nd round pick and draft Nabers/Coleman. Not to mention what we can get back in a Fields trade, if it’s a 2nd as well then we can potentially have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds.

[–] areyoume29@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Him and jj. MHJJJ!

[–] BigBlueRedYellow@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (4 children)

MHJ will make Bagent look like Herbert. Fields and MHJ is just unfair. Give JF QB#1 some time. Dude is 24yrs old.

Here before all the whiners start complaining about another draft post but…I 100% agree. MHJ and the best OL on the board should absolutely be the draft strategy.

[–] Caleb_Williams_bears@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

if fields proves himself sure. He's only had 2 good games out of his 7 starts so I wouldn't be too sure about keeping him if we have a top 2 pick. He looked great last week though.

[–] rustysurf83@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I’m just not…completely sold on Williams or Maye. I’m not trying to be a chicken little but…I don’t trust the Bears as long as the McCaskeys are in charge and I think the most likely path to success is a Tom Brady to Tampa or Manning to Denver type acquisition because the organization can’t develop a QB to save their lives.

[–] Radiant_Ad_9999@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Probably shouldn't trust them to draft high at any position then. Why not trade down with both picks in your opinion, because the best wr in the nfl I'd not making the Bears a contender, and I can gaurantee you that at no point in MHJ career will he be nfls best.

[–] Caleb_Williams_bears@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

thats how bengals, bills, texans and jags fans felt about their teams before they got a quarterback as well.

How are mac jones and kenny pickett doing playing for these great organizations?

I think ur just overthinking it. Or trying to pass the blame away from justin fields. which happens a lot on this sub.

[–] PitchBlac@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

3 relatively good games. 3 out of his last four have looked like competent QB play. Minnesota will be a real test though

[–] Caleb_Williams_bears@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

disagree about the broncos game. He looked horrible in the 4th quarter. Can't just pretend that didn't happen. Also can't pretend he wasn't bad against the vikings as well.

[–] PitchBlac@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The Broncos game they scored enough to win. The 4th quarter wasn’t good, but we can’t just discount the rest of the game. The Vikings game happened and I was referring to that when I said 3 out of his last four games were relatively good. Minnesota was not. It seems to be a theme with this team being unable to close out or come from behind in the 4th quarter whether it be the offense or the defense. I’m not gonna place all of the blame on the QB when it looks like there are problems everywhere. But scoring 28 and 26 and losing? Offense did enough. Especially this Lions game. We literally made history letting them score that fast

[–] Caleb_Williams_bears@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

the offense also only managed to get 10 points off 4 turnovers during the lions game, so who really let who down? The lions have a top 5 offense in the nfl, if anything I think the bears defense did more than enough to win that game forcing 3 turnovers. tbh with you I don't really blame anyone for the lions loss. It was just a good game against a good team we couldn't finish.

I understand what ur saying about the broncos game but at the end of the day he blew the lead when he fumbled and then lost the game on an interception. Its hard for me to call that good game. It feels direspectful to fields himself to call that a good game. Is the bar really that low where thats considered a good game from justin? I don't agree with that personally, especially with how he looked against washington and detroit.

[–] cba368847966280@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Let’s replace our sophomore left tackle that will have 2 years of starting experience in the nfl, who’s been steadily progressing, is already good, and who’s weakness is anchoring against the bullrush for a rookie who’s got no nfl experience, and who’s biggest weakness is anchoring against the bullrush! It’ll be so fun to go through those rookie struggles again!

Like I could at least understand the process of wanting MHJ and an edge, it fills 2 positions of need for us, but the whole not drafting a qb and then drafting a tackle thing is so silly. Just spinning your wheels. Braxton is more than good enough to not warrant replacing with a top 10 pick. MHJ+ latu+ braxton> MHJ+ fashanu- braxton. It won’t matter anyways, if poles is still here and we end up with a top 2 pick, it’ll very likely be a qb, then trade down with the second pick and get a wr/ edge wherever we end up.

[–] fitzuha@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (8 children)

I want to live in a world where I can say MHJ is a Bear.

If it's at one trade the pick, you can still get mhj and a haul of picks.

[–] kmax607@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Only if we trade down to #2 or maybe #3

[–] AverageConnect1330@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

You could go 3. Williams and maye are going 1 2

Lets say draft order is Bears, Cards, Raiders. Raiders want Caleb and willing to trade Crosby, their pick, a 2nd and 1st round next year. However this means Bears pick 3rd and Cards are for sure taking MHJ. Would we still pick him or take the deal?

[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It’s probably smart but I really wouldn’t wanna.

How much to move from 3 to 2?

[–] ChiSp0@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Cards would know what we are after so probably more than going from 1 to 3…

[–] gmoney32211@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I think Cards are going QB. Kyler is back but the sentiment in AZ is that their new FO will probably want to bring in their QB if possible in the draft.

[–] PitchBlac@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

That would be such a bad move on AZ’s part. Kyler is capable of top 5 QB production. Even has sustained MVP level of play.

Moore has been generally the best for us this year. He has legit skill position numbers. If we had 2? Got dayum.

The last time a WR was drafted first overall was Keyshawn Johnson and he eventually became a Super Bowl champion

[–] WhoopieKush@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He’s awesome. I thought he had a chance to win it for OSU late today.

[–] TheStickiestFingers4@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

trade to 3 and get whatever you can. this isnt rocket science, he is the best player in the draft. even if its an extra second rounder you need to pick this guy.
