Brandon Marshall on wgn speaking bears truths. We are the monsters of the midway. Defense is it.
Chicago Bears
"Fields has zero clutch"
- Clutches the game *
"Yeah but he didn't play great the rest of the game"
"Fields can't play from the pocket"
- Back to back games with 280+ and 4 TDs *
"But that wasn't against a top team so it means nothing"
"Fields can only play well against bad teams"
- Beats up on the lions *
"Yeah but the defense shit the bed, so Fields should've scored even more"
"Fields can't even execute a Bagent gameplan"
- Executes a Bagent gameplan *
"The coaches have to call a Bagent gameplan!!! That's all he can do!!"
It's just never ending. It doesn't matter what Fields does, the Fields haters will just find a way to say it doesn't count. Must be exhausting having to always move the goalposts
Their goalpost just keeps moving
Terrific defensive game, Sweat/the improved line looked very solid and the LBs/DBs benefitted greatly.
Fields has had some great games get discredited due to them ending in losses, so I’m also going to disregard this bad game since we won lol. I still think we go QB if we get a top 2 pick, but i also don’t think this game was the “nail in the coffin” some people are claiming it to be.
If not for two monumental chokes, this team would be 6-6. I hope Poles sees how inept the coaching staff is and fires them on Black Monday.
I can’t imagine how differently this season looks if we win the broncos and lions game.
We would be 6-6 lol
Fumbles are bad. They were rushing only three or four, and had 7 or 8 in coverage. Fields had fewer options and the Vikings took away the passing game in the fourth quarter. You saw Fields holding the ball and looking all over for open guys, I guess there weren't any. It's not like he was pulling the ball down and running without thinking pass first. Apparently no one was there to throw to. That happens when a team is playing 7 back. You saw in some of the wide shots, especially when Fields ran, the linebackers were deeper. The problem I saw all night was when the Vikings didn't blitz, their four guys were still beating our 5 or 6 guys and getting heat on Fields. However, Fields did make several impressive plays, running out of the pocket and finding open receivers. Overall, he had a good, not great game. The defense was ridiculously good last night. The only downside I saw was again, the terrible play calling. People say "well Fields can't throw down field more than five yards" First, that isn't true. Second, that's not the game the OC called. I just hope Getsy and Co. don't get it in their heads that last nights gameplan "worked" because it didn't. Moore, Fields, Kmet, and others MADE it work.
Although that was nearly a rinse repeat of how we lose games, it was about damn time this team figured out how to win a game like that. That's learning how to win. The Getsy playcalling continues to annoy me but Flus's defense is starting to look elite.
5 more weeks of Chicago Bears football this year. Enjoy it while we’ve got it, happy to see a win.
Justin Fields is on the verge of passing Tyson Bagent’s regular season win total. I think he can pull it off.
Fields sucks, Getsy sucks, Eberflus sucks
Jaylon tried to bring his highlight tape to negotiations today but dropped them, Kyler becoming gud, our LBs gud, Sweat gud, DJ Moore gud
I took a shower after that win cuz it felt disgusting
Punt our coaches to the next galaxy over. Keep the rest.
What im seeing is a pretty decent team that needs better coaching/discipline.
Getsy needs to be hung in the streets for calling the amount screens he did last night
Is it crazy that I knew we were going to win after Fields 2nd fumble? Just felt like the stupidest possible outcome was a guarantee
Off work today so I finally get to listen to espn 1000 and watch sports tv and it’s interesting that majority of the former nfl players are saying to keep Justin and build the roster I personally would move on from Justin not because of play but because he gets hurt too much but i actually like the 2025 QB class (Shedeur Sanders, quinn ewers,Carson beck,Conner weigman and drew allar) i don’t think Caleb Williams is a generational Prospect I am now leaning towards trading the number 1 pick, build the roster and and if fields doesn’t work out then draft your QB in the 2025 draft
hey, a win is a win! Great for morale and the core group to finally get a game-winning drive against a division rival
edit: spelling
It has been brought to my attention that this sub knows 100% that Ben Johnson is the next coming of Bill Belichick and he needs to be the next head coach of the Chicago Bears. I am sorry for doubting him and with him the best moving forward with this team.....
not getting MHJ+QB is gonna haunt me for the rest of my bears life
hopefully other teams win games too... maybe MHJ + 3rd available QB would be great
Justin Fields is either too pussy to call audibles or just doesn’t have the QB IQ to do it. Either way, MHJr. isn’t gonna improve his inability to read defenses and make anticipation throws.
MHJ might get more wide open so Fields can pass it to him. But i agree. He needs to throw more anticipatory passes. Every time i say this. I'm downvoted because Fields is not making these types of throws
U realize he is most likely not allowed to check out of plays right.
What an all-time shit show of a game. Dobbs had one good drive all game - Fields had one good pass. It feels good to win that one. In Santos We Trust.
Pay JJ. This defense is close. Losing him would make us waste a pick that we need.
Pay JJ when he makes that pick 6 and looks elite against top QB's. He was good against Dobbs? Don't care
Honest question: do we retain Mooney?
Not a good result for the future of the Bears. We just lost the chance for a top 3 pick with a loss to the Cardinals.
If we have the #1 pick (dear god please), Fields will not be the quarterback of this team next year regardless what you think, and not being able to pick MHJ to pair with Caleb is a massive missed opportunity. And now if we win another game we’re likely going to drop out of the top 10. That’s crushing when you could have had an almost sure thing at 3.
Poles should have traded Justin at the deadline if he was planning long-term like a good GM should in our situation.
I've read that scientists have proven excessive screen usage can lead to depression and anxiety. A little something for Getsy to consider for the greater mental health of Bears Nation.
Dont even get me started on that pass to Mooney when Fields scrambled out to the left side and threw a straight hospital ball to Mooney who might caught it and ran it some more if it was a better pass
It took some thought and consideration to say this: we may be seeing the inklings of yet another great defense.
There is intensity There is camaraderie There is a pass rush There are turnovers
It took less thought and consideration to say fire Getsy into the sun right now. I can guarantee you that he taught Aaron Rodgers nothing. How’d he fail upwards
Well the bright side is our defense has gotten 8 turnovers in 2 weeks. They look fired up lately and are starting to come together as a unit
getsy is not helping whatsoever, but fields is not the dude
