The Bears actually don't run that many screens overall. The data was posted on r/NFL a few times last night and today. We are firmly middle of the pack and actually a bit below average when it comes to screen frequency.

I really hate it when people bring inaccurate info into discussions to prove their point. Especially, when trying to argue a pro Fields take in a sub with this amount of toxicity. It just gives the opposition more fuel to hate against their point.
It's obvious, if you watch the games, that Getsy was screen heavy in the first 2-3 weeks and allllllllll through off and preseason. He allowed Fields to do his thing for DEN and WAS. Went back to more short stuff against MIN first game before Fields got hurt. Was 50/50 with Bagent. Lions game Fields was doing his thing again and then last night, it's like Getsy had to make up for all the screens he didn't call since week 3 lol.
Like, just watch the games and you'll easily see when Getsy calls screen heavy games. He really didn't do that since week 3 and was alot more balanced with it since then, before last night.
I don't know, I saw Fields doing a lot of scanning the field last night, it just appeared that he wasn't comfortable throwing in to 7 and 8 man coverage packages with defensive lineman breathing down his back.
There’s very few plays where he’s missing wide open guys. Unless you count the plays where he’s running for his life and someone is open on the complete opposite side of the field.
He’s usually running for his life after guys get open and then are covered again.

Truth be told, none of the meatheads here know anything about his progressions, where his eyes are supposed to go and what the play design is. They're just parroting what other people say on ESPN, Twitter, etc.
Remember when Mac Jones was supposed to be some super computer processor who always made the right read? He's fucking terrible and makes some of the worst throws you'll see. But his ability to go through reads/programs is never under attack because that wasn't the narrative.
The problem with him right now is he's dealing with a lot of things at once. There's the initial play, then he has to identify potential blitzes and coverages. Then he has to go through his reads. But how quick is too quick? Should he stare down route one to lure the coverage away from route two? But what if that guy who he thought was blitzing drops back to where route two is going? Shit, maybe I should just take off? Fuck, here's a defender in my face.
There are a shitload of variables going on in a QB's mind when he's back there. What makes the great ones great is confidence to make that throw AND in their protection. I think Fields is all over the place right now, hence the jittery movement we see back there and apparent indecisiveness.
What he needs is easy half field reads to settle him down, ease him into the game and go from there.
Getsy has called some of those plays. Fields typically does well on the first drive when everything is scripted. It’s after the initial drive that he seems to struggle, so I don’t know that it’s a matter or settling in and getting into a rhythm.
We all know that Getsy hasn’t done Fields any favors with the play calling, but he should be better at the things you mentioned than he is right now.
It being year 3 actually isn’t relevant at all to whether or not it’s possible to improve but alright then!
Not on the Bagent>Fields train but when Bagent was in multiple targets were getting the ball. Whenever fields is in you can bet the balls going to Moore or Kmet and maybe the runningback on a broken play, he’s a one read QB and hasn’t broken that yet. He’s not the guy.
