This suggests that it was obligately a slow walker with a reduced step length, and lacked the ability to jump

bro ain't going anywhere fast or difficult apparently. looking real close at plants to see if they're poisonous?

i bet it's for detecting birds of prey at a distance to buy enough time to shuffle into the bushes

islands might often be free of large terrestrial predators but you can't stop birds
