Did they even watch it lmao. Camina Drummer, one of the biggest badasses on the show, is a woman who is explicitly pan and in a polyamorous relationship. Not to mention Holden casually mentions has eight mothers and fathers, and the DNA from all of them. And one of the major characters from season 3 is a gay woman. You have Amos whose sex drive is a physical need he takes care of on occasion but who is uninterested in romantic entanglements. Like there are non-hetero non-"vanilla" people all over the place and no one is bothered in the slightest.

Also the main relationship on the show (Holden-Naomi, center two in the image) is interracial.

No message

Real "the curtains are just blue" moment.

drummer is literally a insurrectionist and revolutionary

the ending is a type of fuck you to neoliberal compromise

the belters are absolutely demanding a type of land reform in a space sense

North Korea did get there first.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago

Red Faction if it was cooler (more communist)

[–] AcidMarxist@hexbear.net 24 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The show is just a thinly veiled allegory for the Cold War and why Mao was right to wanna nuke the West (this includes the revisionist USSR)

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

the bad timeline started when lenin died, fuckin bullshit

[–] AcidMarxist@hexbear.net 8 points 1 year ago

imo it was when Stalins brain started rotting and he didnt push all the way to Brest. shrug-outta-hecks

[–] Stoatmilk@hexbear.net 21 points 1 year ago

I don't know, the woman in that picture seems to be wearing pants, seems pretty woke to me

spoilerOne of the characters in the show was killed off because the actor was being a sex pest with fans

[–] Grandpa_garbagio@hexbear.net 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I wish they'd have just replaced him, the character ruled even if the actor is garbage

[–] invalidusernamelol@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

That scene was weird too, they didn't have him record a death scene and so they literally just put some blood over slowed down b-roll and played a random voice clip of him saying "hell of a ride"

[–] showmustgo@hexbear.net 15 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Is this show worth watching though?

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 20 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Absolutely, it's one of the best scifi shows of the decade.

[–] AnarchoAnarchist@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I only watched the first season, life got in the way of finishing my treat, but I was blown away at the production value and the universe building.

The books are obviously better, but I didn't get to finish them either 😭

[–] riseuppikmin@hexbear.net 6 points 1 year ago

Honestly the books aren't all that much better which is a testament to the show. Both are great and worth experiencing.

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I thought it was good but it got canceled before wrapping up the main plot, so I'd steer clear if you're someone who wants an ending.

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 14 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Or read the books, they're also really good and the series was wrapped up not too long ago.

[–] LaughingLion@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago

while i felt like a lot was left hanging it ended well enough that i was satisfied
