EDIT: I've only just remembered a crucial detail. The game is a highly detailed voxel game (similar looking to Teardown) and the terrain, as well as the enemies are fully destructable. I remember in the trailer, his gun was not only carving through the walls but he was shooting pieces off of the enemies too. The voxel enemies can be fully shot to pieces.

It's not Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core. I remember another dwarf fps game getting announced and between Rogue Core and this game, a lot of people were calling it the dwarf revolution. I remember nothing about the game itself, just that the logo was a plain black background with the title in a thin white font and a runic-looking logo above the name. It was one word and it started with Dwarf I believe. I kept thinking Dwarfhesia but no results came up for that. Anybody have any idea what I'm talking about?

No. I have that games. It's a third person survival game, not an FPS. Also, check my edit. I remembered some crucial details

I dunno but DRG successfully launched a campaign to add a “dwarf” tag to the steam tagging system. You could try browsing that category to find out.

I know they also just released a spin off game, but its more like DRG meets Vampire Survivors instead of a shooter.

I tried that already, unfortunately. Only 2 upcoming games have the dwarf tag at the moment. Also, check my edit I just made. I remembered some crucial details.

No. It's not that. That's a pure fantasy game. This game was similar looking to Rogue Core, in that it was sci-ish with guns.

Isn't it just Deep Rock Galactic - that's it no : or something because I'm sure they've made a bunch of sequels that are all slightly different genres and every one of those is always had a subtitle, but I think the original one didn't have a subtitle

[–] Risk@feddit.uk 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Huh? There's no DRG sequels. There's been different seasonal updates - if that's what you mean?

Just yesterday they released "deep rock galactic: survivors"

A blend between DRG and vampire survivors.

[–] JJROKCZ@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Yes but it’s not a sequel, certainly not several sequels like that one guy said. Survivors is an offshoot to hopefully help coffee stain make some more moneys for development of DRG

ROCK AND STONE! ⛏

Deep Rock Galactic came out years ago. This game was first announced last year. Also, check my edit. I remembered some crucial details.

Maybe Dwarf Delve? Not black background, but it is rune-style font and FPS.

[–] themightybalian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Nah. That's a voxel game. The game I'm thinking of has very realistic graphics. Logo wasn't that colorful either. It's was a thin white font with the logo above it.

[–] themightybalian@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Check my edit. I remembered some crucial details. The game actually is a voxel game but not in the Minecrafty way that Dwarf Delve is.

Return to Nangrim isn't a shooter.

I have spent an inordinate amount of time searching for this game because it sounds like something I'd like to play. I checked all the Summer Game Fest announcements, and did many (many!) web searches and just couldn't find anything else that seems to fit the bill. I did find a few dwarf voxel shooters but they are all a year or two old already. My suggestion would be to look through steamdb and see if anything looks familiar from the logo you saw: https://steamdb.info/search/?a=app&q=dwarf&type=1&category=0

Looked at the thumbnails and it doesn't appear to be any of those. The game was just announced last year (or maybe late 2022 at the earliest), so it's likely not out yet. I believe I remember them saying it was still in early development. And yeah, I've been searching for awhile between last night and tonight. I'm also getting nowhere. I refuse to believe that I just imagined it. The more I think about it, the more vividly I'm starting to be able to picture it. I know this was a real announcement. Especially because I was watching it live on YouTube and the announcement happened not long after the reveal of Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core and a lot of the people in chat were saying how it was a great year for dwarf fans because there were now 2 really awesome looking dwarf fps games (this and Rogue Core) coming out. I'm so damn confused. Lol

Sorry if that's the case, good luck finding it

[–] themightybalian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Yeah, here's hoping. I just happened to be thinking about the game last night and it's bugging me that I can't remember what it was called. It looked so damn fun.
