I never watch the og x-men series when i was a kid (i was an x-men evolution kid) so the only thing i know from this series is that they used a bunch of claremont stories for it, from the looks of it they are going to do the trial of magneto story along side the new mutants from the sneak peaks

The original was absolutely my jam as a kid. Basically made me into a comic book nerd. They finally got me, I'll watch this.

The original series was so good.

The entire sentinel storyline is an allegory for the US racist police state (and empire) and it was so awesome that it was packaged in a way for children to digest.

The genosha stuff and it's reliance on slave labor has some parallels to the Israel colony, but also just imperialism in general.

There's a ton of good stuff throughout the series but those were the most impactful ones to me.

I don't think a high quality version of the og series exists, and it's kind of outdated (and maybe hard to watch) but I highly recommend it. It had a huge impact on who I am today. The intro still pumps me up.

Thinking about it some more, it honestly might be the most "woke" children's cartoon ever made. I can't think of anything from before or since that compares to it.
