+972 Magazine (an Israeli anti-genocide publication) and Drop Site News actually were the first ones to break the story.

Jolla Sailfish OS. Can buy a phone from them preinstalled, or flash certain Sony Xperia devices with the OS. Runs smooth as butter and has 2+ day long battery life according to owners. Its based on the old MeeGo project from Nokia back in the day and is based on Debian.

If you want something more Linux-like then the FLX1 is it. It runs very close to stock Debian Stable with Posh as the UI, but it runs some Android code underneath for device drivers, so its not a "pure" Linux system, but it's a very good experience and still not controlled by Google.

I wouldnt recommend Fairphone if you want to do Linux stuff with it, it's a perfect AOSP or LineageOS device though.

OP if you haven't had it, you've got to try Indomie. It's like ramen noodles but so tasty and savoury.

I live in a wildly overpriced studio apartment. I would jump at the chance to move into a concrete block apartment with no AC and limited hot water if it took $500 off my monthly rent.

I mean I agree that Vancouver is maybe one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but it's also one of the most expensive!

I'll take anything that's a move in the right direction at this point. Gaza is the modern-day Holocaust and anything that moves the needle to make the killing stop is a good thing.

We need this in North America if we ever want to solve the housing crisis tbh. I'm talking Soviet-style, grey concrete commieblocks. Yes the buildings are ugly, probably lack amenities, cheaply constructed and not well maintained, but we desperately need cheap, dense housing if we're going to bring down the costs. Building more luxury Manhattan condos and suburban single family abominations does nothing to bring down housing prices.

TBH if you're an artist you'll probably make more money by NOT being on streaming platforms and having people buy your music directly - spotify in particular pays fuck all, you might as well have your music on The Pirate Bay. Hell, putting your own music on pirating platforms is probably better for discovery, and people who like your music will buy the albums.

The EU is America's servile little lapdog, its no surprise they would take notes from Trump on this. Especially when it comes to persecuting migrants to feed the cultural war, so that they don't have to talk about how they're about to do more austerity and health service cuts. The war machine demands more human sacrifices to keep running!

The point of the law isn't for it to be enforced fairly, it will be selectively enforced to purge dissenting voices on issues like Israel's genocide in Gaza (which Carney still supports, despite the performative recognition in the UN), much like how the UK has made supporting Palestine a terrorism offense.

He was pro-genocide when Biden was doing it, then quietly pivoted to being anti-genocide when the genocide fell into Trump's hands. He's an unprincipled piece of shit who only cares about making Team Blue look good.

Was it a pogrom when Israel killed hundreds of their own civilians on Oct.7? Or only when the Big Scary Arab does it?

On 5 December 2023, Israeli hostages released by Hamas met with Benjamin Netanyahu's war cabinet and claimed that, during the 7 October Hamas attack on Israel they were deliberately attacked by Israeli helicopters on their way into Gaza, and were shelled constantly by the Israeli military while they were there.[73]
