I have found great relief being able to remotely connect and make sure things are 'OK'. For example, we were away during a tornado. Another time, my hot water heater leak alarm went off, I was able to log in and verify that it was a false alarm.
Out of respect for my partner, I keep the mics off, unless I specifically turn them on to check.

The season is lost, I have no opinion on Bagent - except that he needs more seasoning. Let Fields close out the season. If he plays great, the FO will gave a tough call on their hands, but they also will have a great-playing QB! Sure our draft pick suffers, but we can't make good use of those...
If Fields is meh, it doesn't cost more than a lost season.
