a smaller mars

I've been to spar and checkers over the last while and I shit you not, I've been hearing them play AI generated music. I try to shazam the songs to see if it actually picks up anything but the music isn't even recognized. It sounds like the song was generated off of Suno 3.5 or some shit.
I guess it's cheaper to do that than to pay for licenses for actual songs..

Yes absolutely <3

I needed to make a post about something other than technology or politics or a shitpost, so here it is.

Post from the Dev team:
Hello everyone, I'm here from the Thrive development team to announce we've released the third major update since we started development of the Multicellular Stage, our second game stage. Why is it called 1.6 then? Because we completed everything up to planned release 1.6 in the past three months! And that means the Multicellular Stage is now about 60% completed.

Thrive is a open-source non-profit game that aims to be Spore-like in that it runs through stages from a single-celled organism to a space-born civilization while letting you edit and evolve your species along the way. But it also has a heavy emphasis on providing a convincing and interesting evolution simulation, so that the world changes around you. We also try to keep things scientifically accurate wherever we can, but the focus is on the gameplay experience.

This update in particular adds sexual reproduction, lets you make muscle cells and enables our automatic evolution system to create Multicellular species. But there are also many other additions and improvements, large and small.

Well now you're an overlord again. Congratulations you played yourself

Author Comment:
Legs now get automatically grouped together for more natural walk animations. In this example, the four hind legs form a group, making them take alternating steps, while the front legs move independently from them.

It's cheaper for Google to pay a fine for breaking the law than it is for them to follow it

Ooo cool. I've subscribed to both. Thanks

I personally don't like microblogging platforms in general. It's cool that there's an alternative to twitter and the like, but I just have no pull towards platforms that emulate that kind of environment.
I think it's great that it's so popular and has introduced a lot of people to the fediverse and spread awareness of ethical alternatives to corporate slop, but is not for me.

!piefed_events@piefed.social

Seems like there are events around the fediverse that don't always fit a piefed community and I thought it might be cool to have a community dedicated to setting up and sharing events on Piefed

Tbh it's an unfortunate risk that comes with relationships, period. Doesn't matter how many relationships one has, be it simultaneously or not. Practicing safe sex, testing and communicating well is the only thing that separates someone with STDs, and someone without STDs. I'd go so far as to say people who have open relationships probably tend to practice safety more often than those who don't

I'm not upvoting this.
it's a fantastic, well-reasoned post, but I don't believe it's an unpopular opinion to at all.
The public conversation around DEI is highly polarized which creates a false impression that a balanced, pragmatic view like this is rare. I think you've articulated a middle ground that most people hold

I created a community and selected searching for moderators option, and I see the little message on the community saying "This community needs more moderators. Contact the piefed.social admin team to apply.", and some other communities have messages displaying similar. Would it not make more sense for this to tell the user to contact the community's moderators? If not, would it make more sense for there to instead be a button that links to a way to contact the admins themselves if that is necessary?
