I don't know man. If I had to be a domesticated animal, I'd want to be a donkey giving people rides. It's arguably better than being chased by lions in their natural environment. The only domesticated animals with better lives are Hindu cows and our cats and dogs.

When my aunt was diagnosed with cancer, she quit her job and was approved for Medicaid within a two week period. The government paid for her treatment, and she went back to work a year later once her cancer was in remission.

...I don't know how common this is in other countries. It seemed like a pretty good deal from her perspective.

... people have a tendency to underestimate how prone they are to manipulation. We should amend our constitutions to include freedom of thought as a fundamental human right.

Good for them. Chrome needs a corporate competitor, and the recent lawsuits that (I think) prevent Google from giving FireFox hundred million dollar bribes might lead to a diminished product.

Farming communities also tend to have access to large volumes of fresh water and a well developed system to move it.

Although the point on cost is technically true, the average low income American manufacturing worker has 6-9 times more buying power on the international market than the average Chinese manufacturing worker. I used China as an example since they are relatively wealthy compared to the global average; the public probably wouldn't believe me if I used South America or Africa in the comparison.

As far as quality goes, I don't have an opinion. It's one of those metrics that needs a definition. They tend to use information like "time waiting in the emergency room" or "distance from a general practitioner."

The ability of a doctor to treat the most common ailments is a more informative metric. At the end of the day, that is the metric that counts.

It would honestly depend on the melting point of the tar and what it's mixed with. I guess they could just heat pure wood tar, but they had the technical know how to mix it with volatile plant oils to make it more liquid.

The goal is to humiliate a person; running around like a chicken is more humiliating than being a dead chicken. Since they wanted a show, they would have went out of their way to make it less deadly.

Let me reframe my comment. Tell me if you still think it's trolling. Assume I'm responding to:

"Those woke people are getting what they deserve at the gas pump. They voted for Sleepy Joe Biden, they get what they deserve."

…I’ve never met a “Woke” person in real life. I know a bunch of Democrats, but not the stereotype obsessed over on social media. It’s reminiscent of the McCarthy era and communism. Everyone talked about communists all day, every day, but they were sooo good at blending in that nobody saw them.

What does "Woke" even refer to? People who think the benefits of diversity outweigh the negatives? People who are annoyed with the people online ranting about the right to life and abortion? If this were the case, then a lot of the Republicans i know are apparently "Woke".

...if you no longer think I'm trolling, then you just don't agree with my original opinion.

I haven't met many people that conform to the MAGA stereotype. It seems to mostly be used as a slur to dehumanize Republicans. I'm a centrist; I'd have made a similar argument if the majority was dehumanizing Democrats.

This is my opinion. I'm sorry if you don't like it. Out of the hundred simple comments that were insulting Republicans, my comment was the only one that didn't agree.

...I looked up Sangamon county, and it seems like the perfect place to build a data center. It's in the middle of nowhere and it's economy is non-existent. Pretty much the only thing it has is a lot of flat land.

Note: Sorry if I violated the rules with this comment. I didn't see what sub I was posting in.

By this logic, schools are valid targets because they are educating future CIA recruits and Walmart is a valid target because it's providing the food to fuel them.

I was banned from News, and blocking it was the best thing that's happened to Lemmy. My All feed went from 7/38 Trump posts to 1 out 38 Trump posts.

The high frequency of simple two sentence comments like, "I bet MAGA is sad right now. XD. Those subhuman conerva-stupids are getting what they deserve," suggests that the perceived popularity might not be real.

I think this platform would become more popular if political subreddits weren't automatically included in the All feed. There aren't enough people to dilute the propoganda. It gives a bad first impression.

I was banned from News for acting too Republican, and now I am not given the option to block the community. It's like 90% Trump posts, and I just want to talk about cats or something without hearing about my annoying president.
