The problem being everybody can build an EV. Even household appliance manufacturers entering the race. All these nice combustion engine patents and your USP are getting you nowhere and the competition is bigger than before. I'm sure sleeping on the problem another decade or two will help.

World War I Nationalism "The Original": Gritty, black and white production with a confusing plot. Slow pacing and it set the stage for the franchise.

World War II Nationalism "The Reboot": Bigger budget, better special effects and the villains were so iconic that we still use them as bad guys 80 years later.

Modern Nationalism "The third one, nobody asked for": The writing is terrible, the plot relies entirely on nostalgia for the "glory days," the villains look like cheap cosplayers of the original cast, and the only people who actually like it are the toxic fanbase on the internet.
