That's pretty much what I said - I took some time off for my family. I was getting called 3-4 times a week between 6pm-5am, often times not being present for them, so I had to make a change or risk losing them. I got the job and don't get called at night. Win-win all except for those 4 months without paying and stress of resume rewrites and a million applications.

Ha, yeah that reminds me. Once I had a rattling for a week or so. My boss was riding with me and I mentioned it. He said, you got anything unsecured back there? I immediately remembered the jack I had haphazardly secured about a week or so ago. I felt like an idiot, but at least problem solved.

"today is the best day of the year"

You're correct. The quote is "If we lose 80% of our bees every year, the industry cannot survive, which means we cannot pollinate at the scale that we need to produce food in the United States."

Yeah, this is like a mini documentary. Very well done.

A remic is an investment vehicle, where banks and lenders package home loans into securities for investors. So they are mortgage backed investments which are attractive because of their tax advantages. The banks or lenders have 90 days from inception (of the remic) to properly transfer loan documents to the remic. If they don't and they foreclose on a home, the borrower or their lawyer may discover the late or non-existent transfer of the documents and challenge the lender. The lender may not be able to prove ownership because of this and they risk losing tax advantaged status which (as stupid as this sounds) means they may not be able to legally foreclose at all or be compelled to work with the borrower on a short sale or other alternatives like principle reduction. In some cases courts have sided with borrowers and stopped foreclosure entirely. This was a big thing in the 2008 housing crisis.

Watch your back and get used to this face kiddo, you’ll be seeing a lot of it.

I logged into my machine (Arch Linux by the way) and found that another user, spez, had taken over and mounted my CD-ROM drive (which contained my backup files) and had copied my deleted files back to their rightful places. What a nice guy. Edit: ow, my sidebar 🤕

Unjerk: it's a lot harder to make fun of Lemmy, but that was my shot, enjoy.

Title. I've got approximately 20k karma from Reddit and need to know how to bring it over to Lemmy. Could be a deal breaker for me and I'm quite respected there and need to make sure everyone knows I've got 10 years of posting super important things to r/circlejerk
